Lindberg's not gonna play wing. He's gonna be a good 3C for Vegas.

Crazy to me that they chose this lineup over one with guys like Manson and Dumba. I thought they were at least going to end up with a strong, young defense.

Think they were too worried about getting first round picks , in steadof picking the best players. They could have always traded those players later,probably for more then got for laying off them now.Dumba Manson Schmitt would be a great start for a team and all still young

Agreed. I just keep thinking about them building a team around a core of dmen like that. They'd still have a high draft pick or two this year, and likely a high one the next couple of seasons at the very least. 3 years down the road they could have a young group of forwards with a very strong defense and solid tending.

Not only has he drafted a pretty decent team, but he has also leveraged his bargaining position to assemble a boat load of quality picks and players via trades.

AND .... he's not done.

He now has a bunch of quality NHL assets to move in order to improve his team even more. I don't think that his team will be as good on paper as it is right now, but he has the opportunity to make it much better in the long run.... OR he can move assets to get a #1 centre

I would expect that this will be the blueprint for the next expansion team - they finally got it right.

Cause i think he is going to throw some money @ UFA's & RFA's cause some teams are still in cap hell ... I think you'll see a much different team than this hit the ice in Oct ... but man was this fun couple of weeks or what

Yeah it isn't bad. They're close to the cap (1M) but currently have too much defensemen signed (they need to cut at least 5). So after those are traded there will be room to sign some forwards.

McPhee knows exactly what he is doing. He wants to suck. He has his eye on Svech and Dahlen next year.
