Nobody is taking Emelin. Nobody. Unfortunately.
Boyle is a UFA. Why would they waste a pick on a guy they can sign afterwards and still take a guy from the Leafs??

They pick Plek then trades him to another club retaining half the salary.
he is signed only for 1 year at 6m, if they retain half the salary plek would become a 3rd line centerman for 3million any club would take that type of player for that type of money.
And the 3million would work on the Vegas cap.

maybe there could be another package that would take plek.
hudon is still young but inexperienced in the NHL, he could still be a bust, or at best a 3rd line centerman. thing is the league has more 3rd line centerman than anything else.
Still think plek or emelin would be the sure bet for movable parts. |

Point is, they can get a player that can win faceoffs, play the PK and 3rd line role that's way tougher than Plek and will cost less.
