Vegas can put together a nice lineup AND have a good draft, the nhl was kind to them. |

Our list is crap, which is a result of years of draft neglect by Mike Gillis. |

I would think Gaunce as I think he can go to the AHL for one more season. Would hope it be Sbisa and then use the dead space to acquire a bad contract.
Seems like the 1sts are getting handed out like candy on Halloween. |

If vegas was willing to eat 50% salary they could probably flip him for a decent amount. The money wouldnt matter as they wont be a cap team for a while anyway plus would 3.5 would still help them to the cap floor.

I wonder how many of those rumours about the firsts will end up coming true?
I also wonder how much of a statement that is on the quality of this year's draft?
Gaunce's waiver-exempt period has already been over for a year. He'd have to go through waivers if Vegas (or Vancouver) wanted to send him down next season.

Cheers for the answer. I wasnt sure. Im assuming they take Sbisa then to flip at the deadline.
I bet Vegas ends up with at least four 1sts if the rumors are close to true. Not to mention what they get for flipping guys like Dumba, Vatanen etc. Of course unless those are the teams they pay with a 1st. |

I can't really see them being interested in anyone on our team . They would probably be more interested in doing a deal for our 33 rd with a selected player . |

Vatanen and Manson will not be taken. Why do people think they are going to be available? Deal already in place. As with a lot of other teams. |

Let's see here.
The general assumption is that the Wild will offer a 1st rounder to Vegas, a 2018 pick due to the fact they traded their 2017 1st to PHX, in an attempt to protect Dumba/Scandella.
Vegas has stated they are open for business when it comes to drafting selected players with the intention of flipping them to another team.
Hypothetically, Vegas can either acquire:
A late 2018 Wild 1st rounder or Dumba.
It sounds as though Vegas is intend on accumulating as many future assets as possible as opposed to simply attempting to compete right off the bat.
Send them Hutton, a 2nd and perhaps a winger prospect for Dumba. Would certainly beat out a late first rounder....?

About the draft quality. To me it seems like the 1st round quality is about 1-20 with no high end talent and 2nd round quality is about 20 - 45.
Where as next year it looks like the first round goes to about 40.
If that makes any sense
Also, why if possible maybe instead of Tanev for 3rd OA, id prefer to go to Buffalo for 8th OA and 37th.

I was thinking vegas send Dumba to the Oil for their 1st(22OA). Oilers need a top 4 right dman with offense. |

I wouldn't pay that for Dumba. He isn't exactly developing as well as the Wild hoped.
Also, to contradict my last post, I heard Minni just might bite the bullet and lose a good player (D).
And now for a topic rarely talked about on here:
I have a feeling Tanev is going nowhere. The Canucks won't get the 3OA and this draft will be a let down, in terms of Canuck activity. |
