I just about sh!t when I saw Anaheims list, for sure they are flicking their 1st rounder over to Vegas but Minny, wow, they don't have a 1st rounder to give. Why wouldn't they have traded Dumba to Dallas for the #3 overall??? I don't get it. Hardly any trades between other teams, they were all probably trying to rape & pillage each other. With Calgary out of the goalie market, that doesn't leave a lot of teams in that I could see Vegas leaving MAF with Pitt & going after a kid like Rust. If I were Vegas, I would fly with Grubauer & Raanta & call it a day. I bet Brouwer will get taken. Vets with some $$$ seem to be on other teams where there are way better options. Like Staal on Minny, etc. I doubt McPhee was happy to see that deal Tre did yesterday.

I am hopeful they re-sign Versteeg. Otherwise, not much on the list to worry about losing.

Pretty much identical to every Flames fan's protected list. I know it's identical to mine. I was neber thst worried about expansion because we were in great shape for it.

Kulak is the guy I'd be sad about losing since he's come along nicely and looks ready for the NHL full time, but we are deep on the blueline and losing him certainly wouldn't be the end of the world.

I'm fairly confident Tre and Versteeg already have a handshake agreement in place and they'll put pen to paper after the expansion draft, assuming Vegas doesn't take him. Versteeg wants to stay in Calgary dince it's close to home and he played well enough to earn another contract with the Flames, and Tre likes him, too. Even if we lose Versteeg, though, we'll be just fine.

So yeah, we're in good shape and with our goaltending situation already resolved, we can focus on getting that #4 and then a top line winger.

Not too late. There's a chance to make a deal with Vegas. If they want picks, maybe a deal could be made for him and dumba. Won't be cheap though.
