Ottawa makes a lot of sense as a trade partner for Colorado. The Senators need an upgrade at center and they posses some intriguing young talent like Chabot and White. Ottawa is also going to have protection issues with their current defense. Throw in the fact that Ottawa has several bad contracts (Burrows and MacArthur) and the Avs have some financial flexibility to take on a bad contract, it sure looks like a deal could be made between these two teams. It will come down to timing of such a deal. I will be curious to see if teams take a risk and expose players who are productive but yet don't meet the salary they are being paid such as a Bobby Ryan or a Seymon Varlamov ( I know the Avs have already stated they will protect him).
Coga has been beating the drum for a Hanifin swap for Duchene, another great idea that would re-balance the Avs. Would that trade be a one for one? The next week will be fascinating to watch as it unfolds. In my opinion the question that Sakic needs to answer is trade for a sure thing like a Hanifin or gather more assets in the hope they develop into future NHL stars.

clearly you dont if you think Ceci has any value. He sucks. The eye test community and the fancy stats community both agree, he isnt good at hockey
