Not sure I get the idea of McPhee, picking up a player and then flipping for a pick or prospect... Wouldn't that also create a bidding war?
Or is it a case, where Lou says to McPhee; if you pick player X, trade him to us for a pick and a handjob from Dubas?

Yeah – I’m not sure how that lowers the price. Except for the hj part.

On the lower end, I could see a deal where LV takes an under the radar guy that the leafs like. We then send a bunch of useless ahl plugs like vailev, holl, lindberg etc to fill-up LV’s farm team for whoever that guy is.

I've switched the D and K and I think that should help. It's gonna be a ridiculous Weedenk!

I think LV will end up with a lot of draft picks from teams that don't want to lose a really good player.. I don't see a "Grabner" trade happening again

Leafs signed Ben Smith for a reason. But I still can't figure out the Leafs eligible players. I read that Leivo, Rychel, Leipsic and Seth Griffin don't meet the eligibility rules but then I read they do?!?!?!?

If so, I expose Leipsic and Griffith and protect the rest. Andreas Johnson is a younger version of Leipsic...smallish forward that can score. And (frank) Griffith, expendable and meh.

Edit: can't decide between protecting Carrick or Marchenko....I read Marchenko grew up playing with Zaitsev and that's why we acquired him. And I can't decide if I like Carrick or not so???
