why bother talking about it?! whoever they get in return is going to be hyped up on here anyways, that is until the day you're trying to ship him out. If they get someone like Martinez, are sabres fans going to be fired up for the season? |

Why would a team give up a "stud top 4 d-man" for Buffalo's problem child?? Evander Kane has worn out his welcome in 2 cities already, why would we think things would change moving forward.

Hey Garth can you tell us your opinion about trading Kane ? |

Only a year u hve been telling us? Yet still hasn't happened. You are really good with predictions |

Methinks the whole Evander Kane "sweeps" is a tad overblown. Quoting Darren Dreger on a Buffalo radio station no revelation. I would think he'd say similar things about Galchenyuk on a Montreal station or Barrie on a Denver station or JVR on a radio station in TO.
Murray couldn't trade Kane in March when his value was at its highest. Now, one year from free agency, 12 days before the expansion draft, his value will be even lower. What team would give up a good young D man for a enigmatic player, who needs to be protected, and is one year away from being a UFA. The good thing is Botterill has no ties to the player.
When they do trade him, they'll have to replace him in the lineup. Easier said than done. Just because Botterill is now in charge, he isn't going to throw some pixie dust on Bailey, Baptiste and Fasching will suddenly turn into Rust, Guentzel and Sheary. It doesn't work that way. |

Just wondering Garf have you seen Bailey's numbers in the big league? He's nothing more than bottom 6 player. Most likely fourth liner. |

His value is actually higher now actually. He's kept out of trouble and the whole assault thing has been defunked. Plus he's proved he can be a good goal scorer. |

LOL. Again, if he's as good as you say, why don't the Sabres just resign him then? They will never get back what they gave up to get him |

As usual, the real issues re: Kane are lost in the Garth fantasy vortex. Kane has all the game the Sabres want (and need), but the thorny issues are: Does he want to resign with Bflo? And, what will the contract cost in money and term? The Kane thing is all about cap, Eichel contract, etc. |

Kane't stop gushing about how valuable and talented Kane is, as if some dolt GM is going to take Garf's scouting ability for gospel. |

How has he kept out of trouble? He hasn't even gone 1 off season yet. There was no evidence to support the assult charge, but there was still the incident at the night club, which the only reason he charges were dropped was because the judge told him to stay out of trouble for 6 months. It still doesn't change want happened at the night club.
Kane is not going to get you anything of important value. He is a guy who has worn out his welcome on two teams, in his last year of a contract and will need to be protected if traded before the draft. Add to that Can't stay health for even one full season. Your dreaming if think a team is giving up a top 4 young defensemen for this guy.

The thing about Kane and his 'great numbers' nobody talks about is his total points. 28 goals is fantastic in this league and one would assume He must have had about the same or more assists ( because most players do, amirite?). He barely has half as many. 15 assists is a very pedestrian number, and a Key indicator that he doesn't drive offence.
I rate goals higher than assists too but 43 points is nothing special. If teams are looking for a scoring Winger that can add some offence to a top line they should look at Jordan Eberle...who had an off year and still proved to be more productive than Kane. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone as Eberle has been very consistent in his scoring up to this point and is better at hockey than Kane. |
