Garth, you were thrilled when Murray acquired Kane, now you can't wait to get rid of him. My question is why the change of heart? you go on and on about what a wrecking ball of a player he is, but yet that is not something the Sabres need, I'm confused and glad your not the GM of the team.

Garth: I love that you're a Sabres enthusiast, but you might want to put down the bottle when writing your article(s).

I've been coming here off and on for years. I finally registered and please for god sake please tell me why this fool still has a blog on Hockeybuzz. He constantly makes sabres fans look stupid and has absolutely no inside information. Everytime i read one of his blogs it enrages me on how poorly written they are. Lack of information lack of writing skills. He's must have dirt on someone in order to keep his Blogs going.. Ive really enjoyed reading Pachla's blog he has original thoughts and very intuitive blogs. please please let this Garth curse go away......

It's called comic relief.

And Sabres fans do it to themselves often enough.

I don't think anyone is giving up (frank) all for him. He'll stay with the Sabres.

YAWN!!!! Succeed without Evander, they didn't succeed with him.

"Like his life depended on it" Hilarious!!!!

Keep it up Garf. Doubt that any NHL team reading this drivel would even consider you for a minor league scout. Kane has no negatives? A pro scout looks for negatives. Kane has no hockey sense, remember Nail, same thing, straight ahead with horse blinders and fire the puck. Remember 2012-13. Take your blinders off.

Evander 33 points in 48 games
Nail 31 points in 48 games

...."one concludes that Kane should be traded now for a top three NHL experienced defenseman (See: Cam Fowler, Sami Vatanen, Shea Theodore, Brandon Montour, Shayne Gostisbehere, Colton Parayko, Tyson Barrie, Matthew Dumba, Jake Muzzin, or Olli Maatta"

Ducks cannot trade for Kane. They do not have the Cap space for another 5M forward nor do they have the roster space for another forward with the impending expansion draft. When the Ducks do make a deal it will be for cheap, young (expansion draft players exempt) players and or draft picks, not soon to be players making 5M. It makes no sense.

Cam Fowler , Jake Muzzin and Parayko are elite D men. Trading Sam Reinhart would not be enough to get them. Refer to last year's Hall / Larsson deal

Any team looking to poach good D men from teams with expansion draft roster challenges will have plenty of competition. Good defense in hockey, like pitching in baseball is in short supply. The Sabres or any other team for that matter will need to ante up

28 Goals in 70 Games and 25 goals even strength don't grow on tree's. If he is on the market he will demand a high asking price. IMO, I don't see a top D-man as being to much...

Simple question......

JVR or Kane?

Plenty of talk out there that they are available as trade chips to be used to improve the D. So if you were a GM, which would you rather have?

JVR in my book.. But it hard to compare, Kane has never really played on a good team.. Does Kane Score 35+ in he is playing in Toronto last year? I would have to say yes.. However I would still take JVR

He's averaged 20 goals a year in his career. You can choose to reference the high points but many reference the lows. Injury problems, inconsistency, attitude issues have plagued him throughout his career. Those kind of players do not "demand high asking prices". Not to mention Kane is a year away from being a UFA. He's not really a guy NHL teams are looking to commit big money to in a 5-6 year deal. Too much risk
