Sens really should play Wingels. He could get OTT a free powerplay. I'm kind of surprised he will be a scratch!

I'm nit picking, but I dont think anyone in the organization or their affiliate organization should be leaving for their next job while the main team is still playing. I know the WBS Pens are done for the year but wait till the Pit Pens are done before leaving the org. It doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things but just a little thing that slightly annoys me.

Losing Sexton will hurt.

Lets finish them off tonight and get the guys healthy and rested.

It's not surprising that Botterill will take whatever competent people he can. He's been with the Pens for a long time and built a working relationship with them. I wouldn't doubt that some in the front office are more comfortable with Botterill than Guerin or Rutherford and would be willing to follow him. It's up to the Pens to pony up if they think the people leaving would be a void that's tough to replace.

Are the Penguins getting anything in return for losing Botteril and (potentially) Sexton?

No idea what their remaining contracts were and what we could be in order to receive for them (picks like the 3rd rounder we got for Bylsma).

Heard a rumor and I'm not sure if there's any truth to it...but, do you guys think that if the Pens win it again this year, Crosby might hang them up?

It would be a sad ending to what should be a much longer career, but with the head injuries piling up, maybe he's thinking of going out on top--which I can respect.

I heard a rumor that the Chicago Blackhawks will not win another cup for 35 years and might be looking to change coaches. I also hear that at the top of the coaching list is Eddie Olczyk!

Good luck!

anyone who thinks sid is hanging them up is a dum dum. he isn't playing for the glory (well everyone is a tiny bit to be honest)... he is playing cuz he loves the sport. I would keep on doing things that made me happy even if I got hurt a little (and I think he thinks the same) cuz you only live 1 life and need to make sure you use it right.

And here I thought it was Jim Rutherford who was better at drafting...

Hold on here... it's not like Crosby has an extensive history of spraining his ankle... he has a history of concussions - and could very well have added to that in these playoffs - and so if he continues to play given that history, then he's rolling the dice with his post-career life/health. I think that's where the original commenter was coming from.

Lets not complain about losing quality guys. We've been a well run franchise for a number of years now. It started with better drafting even under shero and now its seems like the upper management improved too.

If you are well run you are going to lose underlings. If teams are poaching coaches throughout your system then also become a tier 1 destination for any young guy looking to build a hockey management career. You just need to keep developing good coaches from within.

As a Blackhawks fan this was even funny and the poster you responded to deserved it.

When someone says, "I heard a rumor", you can pretty much rest assured what follows will be a litany of bullpoop.

If "there is a rumor" that Sid is thinking of this, then the poster should produce actual data/quotes/evidence of anyone even remotely in the know this is possible.

I assume this poster posted this because Crosby is worried about his health. While I do believe he should take care of himself and be careful with his noggin', I don't see the issue. If his concern was that great about his concussions that he's thinking of hanging them up, why come back so quick after Niskanen nailed him? It's ridiculous and makes no sense.

Some of my fellow Blackhawks fans can't accept that if/when the Pens win the Cup again this year, they maybe surpass the Hawks as the greatest dynasty post lock-out era (would at least be on par). The Pens would have 3 since 2009, including B2B.

No need to get fired up, man. I wasn't dogging him. I actually like Crosby. My buddy had told me that's what he heard and I was just wondering if any of you guys on the Pens page maybe heard something similar.

This year's playoffs has really showed me how versatile the guy is. He plays a complete game and isn't afraid to go to the tough spots and take/give a beating.
