Paul, I agree on Carlyle. I was surprised he went there in the post game presser. If he wants to complain about playoff scheduling, the time to do it was to the Ducks governor before the next governor's meeting where it could be addressed.
But you're right. Win in less than seven and get some rest. And seriously, playing a team without three key injured players hurt during the playoffs? What should they do there, hold off on the next game 'til everyone is healthy?
And finally, that fighting crap Bieksa started in the last minute? BUSH LEAGUE. There's always an excuse that it's "sending a message." But the only message they sent is that they are petulant children. |

Head coach Peter Laviolette is only the 4th head coach in league history to take three different teams to a Stanley Cup Final, and the first US born coach to achieve this feat.
I know that's two different quotes... first off, congrats to the Preds and all their fans for making it to the SCF! I second the motion that most of Philly is behind you, especially if you wind up playing Pittsburgh.
And congrats to Coach Lavi for that achievement... maybe he's getting close to HOF consideration? If not the main Hockey HOF, then certainly the American version. |

FWIW, Pittsburgh also played 7 games the series before. Both the Ducks and Pitt played their game 7 on the same day. The only point Carlyle was making was give each team equal rest between rounds. Ducks started their series against Nashville one day earlier than Pitt vs Ottawa.
I have no problem with Duck hatred. I get that it goes with the territory, but I do think he has a point. You don't. That's fine.

Absolutely great to see a new team in the Finals and I wish the Preds the best of luck.
Awesome fans in a 'non-traditional' hockey market for a team forced to play a grueling schedule as the most eastern team in the western conference. They have totally earned this.
Good job by Montreal getting rid of PK Subban because that guy will never take a team to the STANLEY CUP FINALS!

Congrats Preds! I have been pulling for you guys since the Flames were knocked out. Great to see some new teams in there. Hopefully you will end up playing the Sens - I am so sick of seeing the Pens winning.
The unpredictability of the NHL playoffs are awesome! We could be seeing a Nashville vs Ottawa Final. Who would have thought that?
And in the NBA----Cavs vs Warriors again. Horrible - need some new teams to win in the NBA.
Oh well - who cares - this is about Hockey! |

Pittsburgh and Anaheim both won their previous round game 7s on the same night. The league has to move to alternating game nights so you really can't give both teams equal rest. If both these series had gone 7 seven games the winner of the Nashville-Anaheim would get an extra day off over the Sens-Pittsburgh Series. It's just scheduling. Not saying it can't be a factor but it's not like it was set to put a particular team at a disadvantage. |

Carlyle was looking for an excuse as to why his team poop the bed against a team missing three top six players. |

Good, we've made it to the Finals, now time to finish it off. What a game by Colton Sissons, here's hoping he can continue it going forwards now that Johanssen is out and Fisher is doubtful. Like the announcer said last night, sometimes you just need a chance to show what you can do. |
