Nice job Dan and very fair. The talent is there with Nelson and with a little more drive, he can be even better. Nothing more frustrating then a big player playing small.

The player of course is mostly to be blamed for this but the orginization as a whole is at the very least partially responsible. Nelson is the epitome of a player who has much more to offer but the Islanders don't have what it takes to extract it from him. You see it not only with Nelson but with pretty much the entire team minus Tavares. Yeah Nelson is his own person but the culture as a whole for this team, the zero accountability from top to bottom, not demanding more, etc is a large negative contributor to Nelson and every other player on this team.

Thanks John! I usually agree with Dan and Noel. I did not agree about Bailey though so I do have a small rebel streak.

I agree with this Cpt. Coaching has been a huge issue as well.

Isles announce hiring of Luke Richardson as an assistant. I expect Kelly Buchberger will also join Doug Weight's staff in the near future.

I am liking this idea. We have stayed away from the MAine alumni.

Thanks Vukota! They seem to be good assistants. Certainly tough enough. Hopefully this means more demanding coaching.

But Bob Corkum played hockey at Maine! This cannot be good for morale. There could be a front office revolt...

Wasn't he the one that made a couple great calls on challenging plays? Or am I thinking of someone else?

These seem to be strictly Weight hires which would also be good news.

Compared to Strome and the other C's given this year Nelson should be a B without a doubt. He gave you the numbers you expected. Was he inconsistent yes, was the team inconsistent? Hell yes. But his numbers were consistent.
Nelson was jockeyed around from line to line and played with shat for most of the year. Look at the player at the worlds right now ( On the larger ice surface that's easier to defend )He is one of the best players on the ice for team USA game in game out. If he finds consistency in his game and also gets some consistent quality line mates instead of slugs I see him bringing his point totals up easily.
Chimera was a B and Nelson is a C ?

Dan I know you don't like Nelson like many on here but a C is not a fair grade imho.
