No such thing, especially in Philadelphia and most especially when they anticipate several young players to graduate to the NHL level.

At first I thought... Johnson... I could live with that because it means our young guys will be getting a shot soon. Then I thought, if we are going with Johnson why not just give our young goalies a shot now....

Good write up as always Bill. A lot of us feel the same way about Johnson. Not a coincidence Hexy named him to Team Canada.

He might've named Halak to his team if he were Canadian

Stolarz and Lyon need to show more in the AHL before they are ready to play 30 to 40 NHL games.

In general, Flyers (like most NHL teams nowadays) prefer bigger goalies to smallish ones. Neuvirth looks smaller than his listed 6-foot-1 but you have to go back awhile to find the last sub 6-foot Flyers goalie. Without researching, I think Beezer was the last one to get any significant playing time here.

I don't disagree. I talk about Halak out of my own personal preference. I would suspect the chances of him becoming a Flyer have remained in the single digits percentage-wise. I do like him as a goalie though, and I think he would be a great target for 1 year, especially if Snow and Walsh are still at odds.

In reality though, I think they would be fine as a backup, but the issue comes when Neuvirth gets hurt. They'll surely sign somebody

He looked pretty damned bad on that cross ice pass and goal that tied it 2-2.

So when can we talk about the elephant in the room with the corsi crowd?

Is anybody have one/both of these issues:

- Page scrolling not working (having the page get stuck at the top/bottom)
- Replies not posting the first time (getting kicked back to the reply page when posting)

It will be like the Gretzky brothers. Remember that time the Kase brothers scored that goal from behind the net?

If we want guys on expiring contracts I would prefer niemi to halak. Cup winner and better than his Dallas stats show. If I want a potential guy I want grubauer. Who recently mentioned he wants a shot at bring a 1 it's time I think he said. If we just want to have average goaltending s guy like halal or Johnson are fine. I think they are fall back options.
