Inexperience showed when they blew leads, that's pretty much it. They still outplayed the ducks for most of the series and would have won if not for some disastrous/idiotic decisions by the refs and situation room. I'm not an Oilers fan but they won that series IMO.
As for the Pittsburgh series, Fleury got the better of Holtby and basically won the series for them. Pittsburgh turned the injury to Crosby into a rallying point and won a game that W had to win. Ovy was a non-factor, much like he was all year. Washington had enough talent to win but played way too cute, especially in game 7. |
