You can't give a guy this old a multi-year contract and Jagr has been fine year to year in the past so I don't think it's an issue now. He's worth about $3.5M plus bonuses easy because he's producing and is a fan favorite who puts butts in the seats and sells merchandise.
Florida has plenty of cap space and this doesn't really seem that complicated. |

1 year 4 million dollars. Give him that contract until he shows that he is not worth that much. If you guys won't sign him to that, other teams would gladly do so. |

For the pens! You sign Daley instead |

Am I crazy, or did you really say there is "not a chance" that ovi and backstrom are better linemates than huberdeau and barkov? |

Cut him a break, it may have been an error. He's busy all day teaching people how to make "100-figure" incomes by selling postcards online. |

Oshie I would take over Jagr. He may be one of the only players out there that I would want the Pens to explore and be willing to spend on. Otherwise, give Jagr his 3.5-4 mil this year and enjoy watching a great. |

Yes. Sign him.
1-2 year deal.
The guy is iron man.
If Florida doesn't want, Tampa will make room for him.
We'll trade you Callahan for him.......

I think Florida has to retain Jagr. If not for the solid numbers and consistent presence in the line up, but PR. This guy attracts everyone to Panther games because who wouldn't want to see the #2 Top point getter in history? |

Jagr to Vegas is my guess. |

A couple seasons of playoff hockey looped together would work better. 23 seasons and counting. |

Barkov's pretty good, arguably better than Ovi but definitely not a better hockey player than Backstrom. Hubby? Wut. |

I think this next season is finally the year he breaks down & anything other than a 1 yr deal will be disastrous. |

He no longer belongs in the top 6. If he re signs here then that would mean he will be on the 3rd line. Panthers need to move on, they have talent they need to take Jagr and Jokinen out of the top 6 forwards if they want to make the playoffs.
Priority 1: hire new head coach
Priority 2: find top line winger to play w Barlow and Huberdeau (Kovy please)
Priority 3: find top 4 Dman via trade or UFA. I'm ok with trading anyone at this point. There is not one player in this organization that is un tradable.
Ekblad is the most overrated player I've ever watched. 1st overall this guy is a bust and will probably have his career cut short with the next concussion he gets. The guy without the concussions is a bottom pair guy at best anyway. He stinks. There's no other way to put it. He was suppose to be the future, the guy gets beat way too much, he's not tough enough and he couldn't hit the (frank)ig ocean if he tried with that shot of his. Honestly the guy is a poor mans Kulikov. I love the ppl who say this guy is going to be great. I don't see it. Just like Barkov. Overrated. Honestly at this point of their careers you'd look just at stats and Weiss > Barkov. Bouwmeester > Ekblad horton > huby. |

Who said it was close? Barkov and Huberdeau have been nothing special. I'm not impressed. Let's look at other guys. How about Bjugstad and Ekblad. Talk about overrated. God aweful. |

I bet he goes to a contender if he's asked, if not, he'll probably re-sign. |

If I'm the GM of the Panthers, re-signing Jagr is not a priority for me. They had a good thing going two seasons ago and management decided to change course. Tallon has to correct the wrongs of Tom Rowe. Jagr is a player that no longer fits into their plans and I'd rather invest in forward who's not an eyelash away from retirement. |

Love Jagr and how he's playing right now but I don't think he's a good signing for a team that wants to finish in the top 10. He's just too slow. If you're expecting a low finish, by all means sign him and give the fans something to watch. The Panthers need to move on. |
