So Wilson slashes and breaks Steen's stick leading to control and dangerous possession but that's not a call. Of course Steen ends up blocking a shot with his leg when he already has a lower body injury on the ensuing sequence that never should have happened if the appropriate penalty is killed. Murphy's law.
Blues like all good teams need to win regardless of officiating. No excuses.

Query. I was thinking a player could not jump into a check or leave their feet... |

Refs absolutely bending the Blues over this game. Even the (N)ashville (B)roadcasting (C)hannel is admitting the refs are screwing over one team. Guess it pays to have Carrie Underwood female dog to the media. |

I guess you're referring to Austin Watson? The question is which of his 4 charges did you post this after? |

The bad calls don't matter if you kill the penalty.
Forecheck has been ineffective all series - Coaches not adjusting
PK has been ineffective all series - again no adjustments
Allowing their D too much freedom because of collapsing leads to goals all series - again no adjusting
Learning that the refs will allow you to hold, interfere, etc without a call but retaliation will be called - again no adjusting.
Different coach, same thing. Adjustments not being made.
ETA - The team still battles to the bitter end - still different coach, same thing. |

Fans can blame the refs all they want on this game but the coaching staff has lot of ownership in this loss imho. |

What a joke.
Perron, WTH?
Refs, WTH was that giving them a PP in a 0-0 game from that scrum. Compete joke.

Refs are bad in every game, they need to be able to overcome it. Blues didnt have many great chances after the first period. |

Perron and Gunnar, weak attempts.
cant fathom how they give a pp after that scrum but they did.

When/if they lose this series...
Look no further than Berglund (they guy who just got a contract extension) who is averaging a pitiful 1 shot per game and has only one assist and Perron who has 1 measly assist in the entire playoffs, none in this round and a pitiful 1 shot per game as well. These guys are supposed to be your 2nd line and are not getting anything done. Two forwards who take up more than 10% of your salary cap can't have zero goals in the playoffs.
Reaves and Upshall have also been poor with not even a single point and each having taken 4 minors each. Edmundson needs to control his temper better but he isn't a veteran like Upshall and Reaves and has actually been contributing regularly with his play. |

I don't understand the too many men call either as he waited to play the puck until the guy was off the ice. At best it should have been that stupid premature substitution call. |

That game was infuriating.
Refs did let nas run around doing all kinds of illegal hits, crosscheks, etc.
lack of interference call on watson hit on pajarvi (without the puck), snowballed into his penalty, then the goal against. I hated the game tonight. Was not exciting chances back and forth. It became a slugfest, where interference, holding, hooking ruled the rink. Sad really.

The supervisor for officiating in the series refused to comment.
The game recaps on NHL.com make no mention of the call, or the comments made afterwards by Coach/Players.
This is why the NHL is bush league. It's not just that they won't admit when a bad call is made, they actively censor any mention of controversial calls. Just look at the difference in the articles between Korac's personal blog, and the one he was able to put up on NHL.com. The NHL is actively trying to bury any mention of an officiating problem. |
