Carol always drops the bomb on a good round of morning hate. Today, she let it slide to afternoon hate. Which is unfortunate because of the accumulative effect of the hate. Which makes it a much more robust hate.

Like a host clearing the table half way through a good steak.

This is one case in which I agree with the NHL. Hockey is one of the biggest draws in winter Olympics. The IOC has the money to support any demand the NHL might have.

(frank) the IOC. One of the most corrupt syndicates in the world. People should just push them aside for a better alternative to international competition for amateurs.

So what if the linking rings symbol and the torch can't be used. What does it matter? Tradition? History? Is that worth selling out for? No (frank)ing way.

Thanks Carol!

Found it interesting that Russia has only 1 NHL defensemen on their roster/camp in Provorov and 6 of 9 are under 25, no Tryamkin

I know and realize it's Latvia but that's good, that he's good enough to be considered and picked.

TSN posted "Pratt's Rant" which is just embarrassing homerism by calling the lottery system a joke for not letting the Canucks get a top pick after a really bad season. Guaranteed during the Oilers run of lotto wins he was calling the system a joke for rewarding incompetence

I really don't see the big deal, this draft is odd, we will get an interesting player at 5 (it's not like we lost out on Matthews/McDavid). It could be worse, we could be Colorado (although having MacKinnon in the pipeline would always make it more palatable) .

Let's start looking ahead to who we might get?

I don't mind the system the NHL has now . I still want to finish last to get top 5 Draft picks next year and the year after but it does detour tanking to a point

I really don't mind the teams that made it into the top 3, Dallas and Philly have big holes and could use that pick (much like Winnipeg last season). I don't like Jersey getting the 1oa though.... because now we get rumours like Kovalchuk wanting to return to the NHL, and now I just don't want Jersey to be successful

Man, you gotta show up more often and read some comments from others once in a while. This has been talked about to death since Van heard they were drafting at 5.

More emphasis on developing all your draft picks and making good free agent signings. Signing players from Europe.

Resign Rodin.

I like the fact that any non playoff team can draft top 3 . I also like we have a top 5 and 33 which is almost like a low first round pick

I agree, I am fine with the system since the league will not go to drastic measures to eliminate tanking, but also hope the Canucks end up with the best odds and be in a position to not drop out of top 5
