Alzner is overrated, and will cost someone more than Gardiner.

Pretty sure Winnipeg is looking for left shot d with similar potential. Gardiner is a solid 3 and still relatively younf. Have to add but not one of marner nylander matthews.

Edit: with alzner was just trying to think of a solid defensive dman to play with zaitsev on a shut down pairing who would be available.

A trade centered around Gardiner for Trouba could be a massive win, but we need to still add more to our blueline in order to make it better beyond that. Alzner - Zait could be a good pairing, but on a cup team that would be a 3rd pair, so then we'd need to then add a full second pair.

Gards had a good year but trouba would be an ideal partner for Reilly big right shot plays physical van skate. Having a top pairing that are both 23 would be unreal with the young core of forwards.
