A little less stick work from the likes of Kessler and Getzlaf might work in your favor.

Ducks hit a couple of posts in the game, had what was effectively a 5-on-2 goal scored against them and the winning goal went in off a defender's skate. They didn't have a lot go their way. I'm not too worried. That might change if they lose tonight though.

There doesn't seem to be a lot between these teams, wouldn't be surprised if this series went the distance.

I'm finding it kinda funny how much the Oilers fans have complained about the Ducks being 'dirty' in the last couple of days due to the stickwork. It's like they've never watched a playoff game before, or they just conveniently forget that they have guys like Maroon on the team. I love the guy, but he can agitate with the best of them.

I'm also pretty sure none of the Ducks have been tossed from a game for spearing in the last 2 weeks.

I agree. I didn't hate the way the Ducks played. The penalties were "hard working" penalties, rather than lazy. Doesn't make them GOOD penalties, but they weren't self-destruct penalties either.

A little more care in the defensive end, and I don't see why we can't even this series up tonight.

So you guys had an off game on Wednesday is all? So did Talbot. His rebound control was terrible. He was serving up pizzas all night right in slot for easy pickings. Can’t believe the Oilers won that game. Talbot is rarely bad in back to back games. Should be a good one tonight. Good luck.

Good to see the ducks getting a taste of their own medicine but why does it have to come against the oilers

No doubt about it. Oilers are fortunate to have won that game. The beauty for the Oilers is that they just won a game in which they were mostly dominated. Tonight will probably end up being the worst the Oilers play this entire series and the Ducks didn't capitalize. The difference between going back to Canada up 2 as opposed to tied is massive. Only have to win 1 of the next 2 games in Edmonton to put themselves into a position to close this out.

No. Edmonton deserves to be up 2-0. They played great defense with just enough offense. We played good defense this game but never had the lead. Alot of the game we played in there zone and they bent but didn't break. Most people are going to say talbot won the game but the first star of the game should have been there defence. Oh man. In this modern nhl if you can't score 3 goals you will lose. Randys going to have to open things up more next game. Take more chances. And hope gibby can steal a game or 2. Well see. Thought Carlyle got out coached this game. Once he went down 1-0 he should have opened it up. If we get vatanen back and you don't let him create scoring chances what good is it. To put him out there and tie one arm behind his back. Buts its not impossible to come back. Did it last year. But how much we have left in the end of this series will be diminished.

When you have an old-school coach telling a no-brain selfish player like Kessler to "go after" McDavid etc. what you get is terrible hockey with no structure and a lot of power plays...against the worst PK in the NHL. Thanks! That's a pretty great strategy. haha

McLellan is outcoaching Carlyle so badly, the team is so focused on McDavid that it's like a perpetual power play. On top of that, you've got guys like Kessler, Bieksa, and Perry skating around spearing and crosschecking after the whistle.

I have never really watched the Ducks play all that much before but I am starting to see the validity in all of the Sharks/Kings comments about this team.

I will say that I like the D-corps of this team though. Cam Fowler is great and Hampus Lindholm is amazing!

If Carlyle doesn't step up his coaching game this is going to be a sweep. The Ducks are probably too good to be swept but they are being let down by this coach's fear of McDavid and the Oilers speed.

(Maybe you guys should hire Bruce Boudreau)

You must be a mcdavid fan. There really hasn't been any fisticuffs. Theres been alot alot of skating and defence. Which for the ducks don't make sense since we haven't had a lead in the whole series.

And Brown and Gaborik aren't that good either. Kopitar, let's just say next year will be telling. At 10mil a year, he may be the next albatross contract that keeps dragging the team down.
