considering all he has done, he needs to be re-signed. What is there even to contemplate? |

They should make Scott Darling the GM. In fact, Scott Darling should be brought in to fill all the holes in the lineup simultaneously.

If this is the case, you have to wonder if ANY ownership group would be happy without a cup.
- Many thought the Flames would not make the playoffs, being elbowed out by San Jose, Anaheim, LA, and Edmonton, (the pre-season favorites, anyway).
- They did make the playoffs, and lost to a HIGHER SEEDED team.
- While they were swept, I don't think that was a fair outcome considering the closeness of play during the series.
Sure, every team hopes for more....but really, this WAS a fairly successful run for the Flames. Even if they didn't wildly exceed expectations, they certainly met any reasonable set of expectations you could thrust on them.
And it's not like it's a team on its last legs, going through it's last attempt, and in need of a total rebuild, (cough, Sharks and Kings ).
If they want to fire him, you would hope they had better reasons than the outcome of THIS season.... |

Guess they're right. Nothing like a good playoff series to create rivalries.

Scott Darling for a 3rd round pick?? Mist the boat on that one. Brian Burke is looking for a barn he can rent to fight himself in right now. You guys should probably have a working general manager some time soon. |

I would say you mist the point of us needing a starting goalie. |

What the (frank) is going on with this? Sign the man. You're not going to find a better GM at the moment. Sorry, love Conroy but he's not ready. |

KK's too busy screwing up the new arena. I'm wondering if they want to know that Burke's plans are. |

If the ownership is actually changing their mind based on how the year ended, they really need to watch the Oilers-Ducks series and compare. The Flames looked much better against the Ducks in the first two games but the Oilers have the bounces going their way and the Flames don't. Not really sure how you can blame Treliving for the worst line change in the history of the sport. |

We don't really know what's going on behind the scenes. Maybe Craig Conroy has shown that he is ready for the job. He's been an AGM for like 6 years now. For all we know he coud have played a very important role in some of BTL's best decisions.
I also don't get all that hype about that analytical guy from Toronto. This season has shown that the advanced stats aren't great at predicting outcomes. The Kings should have been one of the best teams in the league based on advanced stats but they failed to even make the playoffs. The Bruins should have beaten Ottawa. Even Calgary had better advanced stats than Anaheim throughout the series but they hot swept. |
