Seems fair Dan Price does have good speed and a good shot, but may not have the desire needed. Seems a few Isles players have a lack of desire.

I like guys like Prince and Quine. They are decent depth guys and if they are not playing well they get scratched for a few games. That is how it should be in the NHL and for most teams it is... It's when the Isles sign a "veteran" at the end of his career as a depth guy that it drives me insane b/c they will never scratch that guy. Give me a young hungry kid trying to stay on the team over a older "He's great in the locker room" veteran any day.

I do not in any way expect this to happen, but if the Sharks are ready to move on from Thornton...I wonder if he wouldn't be a good UFA signing for a year or two.

Might make sense if a trade cannot happen for Duchene or Johnson. I'm not sure the Isles would be on Thornton's radar though?

Yeah, I don't have a ton of interest in Marleau but it could be him that is made available.

Whatever I read earlier today or last night said it was possible that they move on from one of them. Not an easy decision to move on from either, since they've been there for so long.

They had about the same point totals, with Marleau scoring way more goals and Thornton having way more helpers. I guess Thornton's knee injury would scare me a little but if the term/$$ was right I'd roll the dice.

Might not be, but you never know. Depends what he wants. I guess he's probably desperate for a Cup at this point so maybe he'd take a lesser role on a better team. If he wants to have a big role, Islanders would be a good fit for him.
