Fantastic Story (in a season with a few inspirational ones) for The Sens.
Hopefully, Andy takes homes the award, and can also add out-duelling Lundqvist to his resume, to get The Sens into the 3rd round |

Forgive me for saying this, because I have the utmost respect for Anderson, but didn't he demonstrate his dedication to his wife, not to hockey?
And please do not for a moment think that I'm criticizing him - I sure as heck am not.
I definitely think he deserves heaps of praise.
I'm just not sure that the Masterton Trophy is the way to go. |

I questioned it too, but I think it's valid. The trophy is for perseverance, sportsmanship, and dedication to hockey. I figure Anderson's nomination is more for perseverance than the other two criteria, but I can also see how dedication plays into it. He found out his wife could die in the very near future from cancer and yet was able to perform at a very high level during her serious struggles and painful treatments. Sure he took several weeks off to support her (rightly so!) but he returned and was still able to dominate games from the start which helped his team make the playoff. He could have played terrible and no one would have blamed him. He could have taken the rest of the season off and no one would've said a word. But he didn't. Instead, he stayed sharp and focused with respect to his skills, fitness in the hardest and saddest of times and came back to his team. To me that shows both perseverance and dedication to hockey. |

he came back twice (granted once was for only one game....in which he got a shutout) to play hockey while his wife was undergoing cancer treatment. i'd say that makes him pretty dedicated to hockey. when he came back the 2nd time she was mostly "out of the woods" but still undergoing treatment. |

...and he is still far and away better than any player on the Rags roster. |

Gotta love the talk about the Rags goaltending being an advantage. It seems to me Anderson isn't too shabby against the Rags especially in their barn.

EK65 is better on one leg than your tender on his best day. The Habs offence was a joke at best. |

God ur SOOOOOOO dumb, if they switched team they'd literally be the same spot. They both are the driving forces behind their team's success. Learn the game, uhkay? |

Anderson will go head to head with Hank save for save.
EK65 is next level, younger and already has more NHL hardware than Hank and will keep adding. Hank is out of his prime.
Try again. |

Oh please. Apples and oranges. How can you compare a skater to a goaltender? I know I'd rather have Karlsson on my roster than Lundqvist at this stage of their respective careers, but in terms of value to their teams they are equal. Seems to me the Rangers tend to go as Lundqvist goes, where the same will be true for Karlsson with the Sens.
Both are critical for their team's success, and both (even Lundqvist now) can be the best players at their respective positions. |

McDonagh is significantly better than Karlsson defensively as well, so to say EK65 is the best defenseman in the series is only true in regards to him being the best offensive defenseman. McDonagh is much more well rounded. |

Hardware? Please remind me how many Cups EK has won because I seem to have misplaced that stat. |

That is about as factually correct as when people used to say that the earth is round. |
