Congrats to Nashville. The Preds seemingly never took their foot off the gas. It was fun to watch. Hopefully they can go deep. Good luck!!

While I'm disappointed in how the Hawks looked on the ice this series, credit must be given to the Preds. They are as defensively sound as any team, and Rinne was finally healthy. I think they are at least as good as anybody right now, with the possible exception of Washington. Best of luck out there. Please beat Anaheim if that matchup happens.

I hope the layoff is not too long. The Chicago board is filled with comments about luck, no stars on Nashville, sleeping with your cousin jokes, etc. It really is comical how little knowledge most of their fans have.

I still can't believe the manner in which the Preds won that series. Awesome!

Full marks to Nashville, very awesome. Happy that you guys were able to experience that.

What was up with Q and company not being in the handshake line?

Congrats to Nashville on their dominating win over the Hawks.

I've had the pleasure of enjoying a lot of playoff success for my team in recent years - so I can confirm for you that no, it isn't weird that the grass seems greener, or the air smells fresher, or the sun brighter. It's spring - and your team just won a playoff round to advance. Life is good.

Cheers!

Great series win over a great team. Anyone trashing the Hawks needs to have their head examined. Three cups in the last seven years is amazing. It's ok to savor this, but they still need 12 more wins against a talented field.

I can't resist, all the crap they have given us through the years. When you dominate them in a Series like that please don't deny me some jabs. We might not get the chance for a long time. Glad you care about their feelings so much though.

I just remember how it feels to have another team come in and trash us when we lose!! Have some class is all I'm saying!!

If it helps, it's every ones fan bases that were trolling them. The fans are usually cool but the ones who insist the Preds have no players that would crack the Chicago top six, they deserve a bit of it.

I think the Hawks can take the Preds in 6 games. Just glad we don't see the Blues in the first round. #StanleyCup #Blackhawks #NHL

Ontheforecheck has a great story of pre-series tweets by Hock fans. Sorry it didn't copy well but well worth the read.

Seriously we have taken so much abuse for so long let's really enjoy this until the next round.

Although it was an incredibly challenging series to watch as a Hawks fan, I have to say I was very impressed with what the Preds brought each and every game and if they keep it up they we will be a very hard out for anyone in the West.

The Hawks were out-hustled and out-coached all series long and again full credit to the Preds for doing their research and executing a sound game plan and sticking to it. The pressure put on the Hawks in the neutral zone was a simple yet effective plan that threw a wrench into the standard Hawks breakout and zone-entry scheme and was something they were never able to overcome... you then throw on the fact that you guys ran 4 very fast lines and boom you dominated this series. I've liked this Preds team, but I did not anticipate the Hawks getting bent over like this so again very well done to this Preds team.

As a Milwaukee native and partial season ticket holder to the Admirals I did enjoy seeing the success of some ex-admirals players as they've developed into really fun NHL players. Forsberg, Arvidsson and now Fiala (to name a few) left their mark in MKE and clearly can be expected to continue doing big things in Nashville for many years.

Congrats again Nashville and good luck on what I truly hope is a long playoff run.

Well... every fan base has their share of meatheads...

But yes, Johansen, Forsberg, Arvidsson and maybe even Fiala could crack the Hawks top six. But the real gem for Nashville is their top-4 defensemen - they can do it all apparently.

I'm super envious of their defense.

That hit on Arvy though..... That was just text book. I thought that was going to shift momentum

I was worried he wasn't going to comeback for his next shift. I didn't watch the replay, was that a late hit?

With the D corps they have, plus a healthy Rinne, I expect them to go far. Not many teams would have the requisite defensive depth needed in order to feel comfortable trading Seth Jones for a talented center who was deemed a problem by his previous coach (even if it was Torts). The knock on the Preds in the past has been lack of high end forwards (that's obviously not true anymore) and the questions about Rinne. They've put those concerns to bed. And the team has responded very well since Lavvy took over. The breakup with Trotz was probably long overdue, no disrespect to him.

It was a beautiful hit - but I give Arvidson credit for not missing a shift.

I would have been in the dark room getting a mandatory evaluation - with excrement all in my shorts after that hit.

I posted on your previous blog - congrats to the Preds. I'm sure you're pretty ecstatic today (enjoy the feeling!!!). The Preds were beyond determined and well coached.

Good luck against the Blues/Wild.
