Wow. I really don't get all the Toews hate. Was that jab really necessary?

Well Bob looked like an ECHL goalie at times ,that sure helped .

Series was somewhat entertaining yet frustrating, the cbj missed out on alot of chances , Bob couldn't stop a beach ball and MAF reminded us why he was a first overall.

That being said good luck to the Pens hope they defend the title

BJs got a really good and young team. Jones and Werenski are only going to get better which is scary. Bob was a letdown for sure.

Jesus, really Ryan? Are you channeling Garth or Tanner with that petty and unnecessary rant against Toews? These agenda driven hatchet jobs against certain players really diminish the credibility of what is otherwise usually a really well researched and well written blog.

Couldn't you let us all just revel in the series win, without writing something that is now going to bait every Hawks fan to come here and turn the comments section into a clownshow for the next 24 hours? If you wanted to write something on Toews, you would have had a nice 5 day or longer break to take that shot.

Glad to see the Pens finish them off and get some rest now. MAF was terrific last night. It was really important for him to get those early saves when the BJs came out fast again. It gave him some confidence. Still the team gave up a ton of shots which needs to be addressed.

Now lets hope the Caps/Leafs beat the hell out of each other.

Another thing I like is that Sully saw that Sheary was struggling and switched up the lines. Sheary had a terrific regular season but hasn't played well this postseason. I wonder if this will be a permanent move?

Thanks. The future is bright in Columbus. There is a lot of talent on that roster, but you guys need to get someone more cerebral than Torts behind the bench.

That's how I always feel too.. I always want to see my team lose to the champs.. that way I can look at it and say "Well at least they lost to the best."

The reason why the Hawks lost was they were too distracted by the beautiful Carrie Underwood.

Did a CHI fan sleep with Gunner's sister or say something mean about his mamma?

Every time I hear Wilson talk about toews I wonder if his kids are confused about which one is mommy and which one is daddy.

bobrovsky looking bad is what the Pens can do to elite goalies. He looked better than lundqvist last year.

Heh!

The Chicago Blackhawks were swept in round one. It is the second year in a row where they have failed to win a playoff series. However, not everything is a negative about the situation. Jonathan Toews led the team until the bitter end. In one of his most poignant leadership moves of the season he waited until near the end of the third period to score his first playoff goal in two years. I find Toews' leadership strategy impressive. The selfless Blackhawks Captain led by sitting back and giving all of his other teammates the opportunity for glory. By scoring late it was a message to his team that he can still get it done when he wants, but he would rather share the glory. His patience should be applauded and should be taken as a sign of not wanting to showboat or show up his teammates. However, at some point you have to score to teach others a lesson and now the rest of the team will have all summer to ponder how they too can turn on the Jonathan Toews switch. These are things that can't be captured by statistics and are why his 10.5M contract is one of the best values in the league.

Great game by Fleury and everyone. Good bounce back game, and despite being outshot, the majority of them were not testers. Penguins capitalized on their chances, and as Ryan said their best players played like it (looking at you, Rust....just kidding). Everyone did their part well.

Just one note: I don't think that Columbus lost this series because they were physical. I think they had a plan to use that physicality to get Sid and Geno off of their games and, when that didn't work, they didn't really have a plan. The physicality wasn't the issue so much as bad goaltending and a general lack of offense to compliment the physicality.

Why does every RW blog have to take shots at Toews? Still bitter about that arbitrary list?

It's nice to see the Penguins not retaliate and act foolish when teams try to take them off their game. We all remember when the Flyers did that and the Penguins completely lost focus. I really like the discipline this team has now.

Yep. The 2012 Flyers showed Boston how to beat them in 2013. Once Sid and company decided to let their skill do the talking, they've been a much harder out.
