Sadly did not see the game again, but they won. Maybe they can win game 5.

Alex, you are a good man from all I read, so let me ask without offending you:

1. When Coach Richards was fired last season, was there another coach who was available and able to get the CBJ to where they are this year?

2. At the beginning of this season was there an available coach to hire that would be able to get the CBJ to where they are this year?

IMO, its hard to argue with the results. Next year we will see if Torts has really changed or not.

Not saying game 5 is a win , but Quincey and Nuuti played way better then Harrington and Carlsson, his reasons for wanting to match the Penguins speed was unwarranted , he should of stuck to the guys who got him there .

That being said , I think I answered your question following the firing (to you perhaps) . Torts is not the kind of players coach like Richardson , he over dramatises everything , creates problems and flagrantly let's his tempers flair for the media to do a piece on . Good for him if he made it , but Bob's return to Vezina form and the emergence of Werensky helped greatly .

I can say , no one was available at the time of Richards firing , the reason why I thought it would of been best to stick with him until some more modern hockey minded coach would of been available. I don't recall specifically who was available , I think Yeo , Boucher could of been good option, both are what embodies this new wave of sound minded coaches who understand and can talk to players. Even if Torts has some progressive thinking by abolishing the morning skate , he's still a foreman while we like it our not.

I think they could squeeze out the series to be honest. Chances are it's not going to happen but if there is a team I think is in the playoffs right now who could come back 3-0 against the pens it's CBJ... they are pesky like that.

Good season Blue Jackets. Don't know if Bob was injured or just tired, but he was not on his game in this series. You guys have alot of young talent and the sky is the limit. Respect.

Fun series to watch, such a bummer Werenski went out for the playoffs. That kid is a stud. Honestly, I wish you guys had a coach that wasn't an imbecile. Hate how the dude treats the media for asking honest questions. And his lack of adjustments and overall stubbornness just doomed you guys. I know he won't be fired and rightfully shouldn't be after this season... but (frank) man, if you guys had a competent coach, this team would be so much fun to watch. I like hard hitting hockey, but when it's forced, it just takes away from what this team is good at. Oh, and I want Boone Jenner on Sid's wing. Dude is a horse.
