Said it before and I'll say it again - our 3rd line of Copp-Lowry-Armia would make a great 4th line
.
Armia is the best forechecker on the team ... Lowry is a very strong 4th line centre and a keeper ... Copp - well, ok ... not sure why everyone makes such a fuss over Dano - don't see the upside there yet .... sorry, but don't
.
Everyone of these players would be better playing with better line mates ... isn't that always the truth ?
.
We still need to get deeper |

Except, Lowry got way more ice time than he probably should. |

The Jets could lose any of these players without it being noticed. Much more effort and smarts needs to be shown along with actual production. The amount of PP time Lowry received and the few points he produced do not jive. Plus if he has size it would be nice to see it used.
Watching the playoffs has revealed to me the Jets would be in trouble and be pushed around. quite easily. These are the players on the roster expected to negate that to some degree. I don't see it from these players.

Dano got screwed by Maurice this year. The dude has proven he can produce at the NHL level. Same goes for Petan. We could have 4 scoring lines, but Maurice is afraid to let the kids take over completely. A line of Connor-Petan-Dano would all hit 40 points as our 3rd line. |

fak post season grades. does anyone really care about post season grades? We are reading them here ( well to be honest I didnt read it ), Both Winnipeg papers have written articles on post season grades, and 1290 radio is doing player grades. Seriously, could this time not be better spent on the upcomming draft, overall discussions on prospects who played on the Moose and how they progressed this year, players who may be on the Moose and are coming along in Jets system next year ( Niku, Spacek, Harkins, Foley ), Players we could target in off season trades and the cost ? It seems to be me I'd rather read articles on about a dozen other topics. |

not picking a fight lol, I dont doubt that line could put up points but I question how they would play in their own end. Our third line needs to score and play a strong 200' game.
Dano, Copp and Petan never really put up strong numbers for the Moose when given ample playing time and power play. I have to wonder how much of a drop off (if any) is their from those players to guys like De Leo, Kosmachuck, Raslovik, or even Howden?
I guess where I'm going is if players like Copp, Dano or Petan have trade value, I hope Chevy explores it. I know yourself and others disagree with me that Lemieux has a role on this team but even him, if he has trade value I'd entertain it because a guy like Lipon can also fill that role. ( a poop disturbing, agitator who will also fight while playing on our 4th line)
I truley believe we are ready to compete now!! but a I dont want a kid centering our third line, and Perrault has also admitted himself he is no longer a center. I like our 1-2 of Shief and Little and I like Lowry as our 4th line center. I'd love for Chevy to part with some of our added depth of young forwards and maybe some picks to go get a Johansen, Zajak, or someone like that.
to be clear, since my words often get mis used on here. I'm not saying make major changes, I'm not saying trade all our prospects and picks. I'm saying we all know we have depth with our group of under 22 year old forwards and can afford to part with one or two of them quite easily where it will not affect this team one iota in the future. |

ok Jets fans, rank your Goalie wish list for next year in order.
mine is;
1. Bishop ( no more than three year deal though)
2. Howard
3. Mason
4. Darling
5. Fleury
6. Grubauer
7. Raanta

None of the above. i would go after Jonathan Bernier. He can be had on a 2-3 year deal. Or I say we go after James Reimer. He's got 4 years left on his contract and will most likely be exposed in the expansion draft. |

Dano has always been solid defensively. Petan just needs to hold his own. Connor, however, is a wildcard there as he likely won't be able to outskate everything like he does with the Moose. That said, that's too much talent. They'll outscore the opposition by a mile as most team still think 3-4 scoring lines is too many.
Also, did you just say we need to acquire a 3rd line Center, then list Johansen (a clear top line Center) and Zajac (a great 3rd line Center making top line money)? Those are literally the two worst choices. One will be far too expensive to get, and the other will be exactly what we need for a year or two (before he declines too much) but cripple our cap. I say roll with all skill, just like the Penguins and Sharks last year, and Washington this year. In a year or two, Little can move down when Roslovic is ready. There's your elite 3C. |
