Depends on where their heads are at now... Dubnyk complaining about 4 on 4 hockey after the game doesn't bode well for his focus going into game 3.

Clearly neither contributor actually watched either game.

And at what point will Tanner learn about not judging based on stats from a small sample size? If only Tanner had made hundreds of comments saying that exact thing anytime the advanced stats didn't agree with his position!

At this juncture, it is one thing to say 'the wild can still win this serie'. It is another level to say, 'I can't see (the Blues) pulling this off'.

Really? Can't visualize St. Louis winning the series?

Obviously the first game the Wild dominated play and the Blues got the goaltending and puck luck to steal the game. (Which is exactly what teams have to do to win the the play-offs. Goalies have to steal you a game or two a series to make it.)

But game 2 I would love to see a replay of all of the glorious chances Minnesota got that the Blues did not. It looks to me like the Blues are dominating the center of the ice 5v5. The Wild have yet to breakthrough not on a man advantage.

Well i said it in Dan's thread and I'll say it again... The Blues have played just good enough to not lose. I didn't think the Wild looked as good last night but once again they blew several golden opportunities.

There is very little that impresses me about this Blues squad and despite taking a commanding 2 games to none lead in the series, they still look very beatable.

Same goes for Allen, yes he's been solid and has played well, but IMO his play is more a product of the defensive play in front of him which is no doubt a result that is indicative of Yeo's team defensive style of play combined with the fact that the Wild keep tripping over their own Richards every time they get a high percentage scoring opp.

Can the Wild pull out a series win? For sure, but that will require them to loosen up their offensive play and start scoring like they did in the regular season.

Their play has clearly been good enough to win, the real question is can they stop (frank)ing up their goal scoring opportunities and start taking control, they proved in the regular season they have the skilled players to make that happen.

Mostly agree.

Wild have played well. Series could easily be 2-0 them.
Blues have not looked their best yet.
It will be tough for minnesota to come back, but it is possible.
I hope the Blues keep improving.

It will be interesting to see how the Blues respond if minny scores the first goal. I think they will be fine, but we do have some youth in our lineup that is hard to predict.

Oh for sure. Wild definitely have their work cut out... I'm not saying they WILL win this by any stretch.. Clearly the odds are no longer in their favor. But they can if they can pull their heads out of their asses.

High intensity and high motors does not mean much if they can't utilize those attributes with skill applied. Wild skill has been mostly absent so far and they can't just show up thinking if they continue to play the same way they will eventually win, because they'll inevitably run out of time/games by then...

JT thinks the Kings got robbed of a playoff position because their possession numbers were so good we should ignore wins and losses. He is so consistently wrong that him picking Minn. is encouraging. The question is why write an article without putting any effort into it. Lazy journalism at its worst.

Just more evidence that the fancy stats just are not yet ready to be used to make predictions. The team that JT says cannot win the series is in a position to sweep.

Lets go Blues!
