What message does benching Saad and the 3rd D pair decision send to the team? Other than I'm in charge. Torts was no help in that game. In fact quite the opposite. Torts really needs to make better decisions. |

Don'tknow what Torts was thinking benching Saad . What did he think that would that would accomplish . Your trailing by 3 to a fast team, so you bench one of the fastest , n best point producers you have . Torts ego showing on that decision, dumb |

I hope he continues to send messages to his best players. I think Werenski and Jones need to receive a message too. |

I made the comment during the game that, although they are great young defensemen, I can't see how Jones and Werenski can play those tough minutes over 7 games against Crosby and Malkin primarily.
If torts can't get at least 12 minutes a game out of the third pair,I don't see how Columbus wins this series short of Bob stealing 4 games.
Good luck tonight everyone! |

This is typical Torts hockey though. I'm not sure what went so right for him in Tampa, but since then he seems to build his teams to buy into his system, the team thrives, but he then makes questionable decisions come the playoffs.
The years he coached the Rangers were prime examples. There's a point where you just lose your players with your message.
It's weird because I wonder if you guys would be as good with another coach or if you guys just have the right players for him to coach in the regular season? Playoff hockey is a whole other animal and I'm not sure if he pays attention to that. |

Bob has been awful. I don't know what else to say. I never would've guessed he'd be our biggest liability in the playoffs, but he's been a disaster. He's 0-6 in his last 6 starts now. He's all over the place in net and looks like he has zero confidence. Ridiculous. |

Pure class by the jackets at the end of the game. I expect nothing less from a Torts coached team. |

He's got the label not a playoff coach. |

I was at that game tonight. Columbus is just not playing a smart game. They're taking themselves out of plays to make the big hits. Plus, unlike in the past, the Pens seem to be really under their skin as apposed to them frustrating the pens. |

I'm not sure Torts or anyone on CBJ watched the Penguins win the cup. These goon antics play right into our hands. The spastic Penguins are long gone, show up and play actual hockey or get bounced.
CBJ is good enough to play actual hockey....I think..not sure after these first few games. It's not 1975 just in case Hartnell, Dubinsky, Jenner and Calvert can actually read.
My guess is you know the team that scores the most goals wins....correct???
