Sorry Ladies, but watching Women's Hockey is like watching Pee Wee Hockey.

The game of hockey in general, has changed so much this past twenty years. So much speed, agility and strength has transitioned the sport to such an elite level.

For starters, more competition is required in the world. Rather than watching the USA and Canada monopolize the sport to a private grudge match, Diversitility is a must in a hockey world. We know hockey will never garner the attention of International Soccer, but additional hockey nations must grow beyond North America.

The women's product just isn't good enough. With a lot more hard work year around and the absolute need for additional funding from sponsors etc. Maybe twenty years from now, women's hockey will improve enough to peek more interest.

if you dont like watching it, dont watch. but they should be allowed to compete. Sounds like womens hockey in general is being treated like a particular song by John Lennon featuring "the N word..."
Let these women skate!
is UND "so poor" they cant afford to fund a womens hockey program?
May be the dean of UND can skip buying his kids new Mercedes for a year?
....just a thought.

Considering women's hockey wasn't the only thing they cut I'd say yes, they are that poor. So many people make wild assumptions about others fiances and it's so stupid.

There's no doubt that UND has some serious financial woes. The issue though is that unlike Men's & Women's Swimming, Women's Hockey was never on the radar as a program at risk. The complete cut came out of the blue as the team was blindsided by the news, and they had to find out about it through Twitter.
