Okay, so I haven't read the comments but more so heard about them from a buddy. Did Steve Mason openly blame the team for the Jets loss? I mean, he has every right to feel this way because it's true but was this said through the media? Also, did Ghost call out the heart of the team and use Brandon Manning as an example as the way the team should play? First of all Manning sucks! It's good to finally see him actually win a fight but the league hates that dude right now, so he's likely to be fighting for awhile whether he likes it or not due to the McDavid stuff. Last Ghost shouldn't say anything. Ghost can produce offensively but my god is he lost in the defensive zone and much weaker than everyone else physically.

I believe the Manning quote was more to give Manning a pat on the back than to put down the rest of the team.

Ghost has been better since about the beginning of March. I'm still of the opinion him and G weren't 100% in game shape until about that time. Something about both of them looking better almost the same time after the same surgeries.

Mason should rip these dogs. They've hung out either goalie with lazy defense most of the season.

It's been reported that Giroux isn't 100% and hasn't been all season. His hips after hip surgery aren't the same.

Truer words have never been spoken...I don't think it's a coincidence that both G and Ghost have been playing better over the last month considering they had the same surgery and both played in the World Cup of Hockey.

No kidding...it was a complete accident what happened with Manning, DelZotto and McJesus. I swear the NHL poster boys can do no wrong and anyone that touches them is Charles Manson.

And G...that cheapshot SOB fractured both of his wrists. 87 is the only player I've ever seen have a penalty called against them, argue with the ref all the way to the box, and then have the penalty wiped out. Unreal!

I don't care about McDavid or Manning. It was a clear accident. I thought Manning did a great job of getting in his head twice. I thought McDavid handled it like a child by whining through the media and trying to get his goons to fight for him. With this said, while Manning used an advantage to win, the meatheads of the league who didn't watc, nor were apart of that game will now view Manning as dirty.

Carolina and TB are the only teams out of the playoffs who are playing well right now.

I view it as just locker room talk, and trying to support teammates. Any thought of the league hating Manning is ridiculous. He also doesn't suck. I agree that Gostisbehere looks better lately. I thought he had a strong game against Pittsburgh, and made a lot of plays. His struggles during the season weren't just about any lasting effects from his surgery. His defensive game and fundamentals broke down to the point where the coach scratched him for it. I believe Mason used the word "we" when talking about the teams effort against Winnipeg.

Well I think you're way off base. I feel like there a couple of fights after the Edmonton game this year where players from other teams really gunned for Manning, which resulted in Manning having to defend himself. Also Manning does suck. He's not very good at all.

The coach scratching him for his struggles is crap...plenty of other players on the team were playing like garbage and weren't riding the pine. Complete double standard. Continual baffling lineup decisions by Hak. Keep drinking the koolaid!

If we look at why he was scratched, it's not crap. He was not scratched simply because he was struggling like other players were. He was scratched because his defensive game and the simple fundamentals such as stick position and positioning on the ice were lacking. Nothing baffling about it, and it was the right decision at the time. Each player is an individual and the coach will look at each situation individually. This idea that each player is equal and treated the same in the NHL is a myth. Players are scratched for different reasons.

1) Mason didn't say anything that was too far out of the ordinary except he talked about the offensive side of the puck (mentioning how little Hutchinson had played and all their injuries on D) not being aggressive enough) as well as his own end of the ice. He didn't absolve himself either, saying he felt he needed at least one more clutch save.

2) Manning is passable as a six or a seven. The issue is the Flyers have too many D-men you could say that about. One thing he absolutely does do is give 100% and back down from nobody. Ghost was saying more guys need that moxie, and he wasn't wrong to say it.

It's going to be pure bliss when we get one of those NHL coaches who never scratch young players and never make any lineup decisions I disagree with.

And the restaurant down the road from me has a Free Beer Tomorrow sign, so that'll be great too.

I did think Mason kinda slagged the team's effort a little after the Jets game and if I recall, didn't Voracek disagree with him in the press about that?

I have friends of mine that are Blackhawks fans and they CONSTANTLY whine about decisions Joel Quenneville makes.

Dude has coached in almost 1500 games and has won 3 Cups, yet is somehow a boob.
