It'll be tough, the Devils have an easier schedule than Arizona, and the Yotes have played an extra game. Three points doesn't seem like much, but if you figure the Devils win 3 of the remaining 9 games, they'd finish with 72 points. For Arizona to pass NJ in the standings, they'd have to accumulate 10 points in 8 games. They play Washington and STL twice apiece. Then LA, Dallas, Vancouver and Minnesota to close out the season.

In contrast, the Devils play Carolina, Dallas, WPG, The Islanders and Flyers each twice, Pit, and Detroit.

I hope they continue to see time on the power play & when they are short handed. Taking on those responsibilities will definitely carry over to next season. I love how the young guys have stuck together when things get chippy. That "don't take crap " attitude even rubbed off on Zajac. I'm not sure if Zajac takes on Boyle if that happened last year.

Thank you Reid! Wish you were still in NJ! I'm still baffled at how ray chose to keep the likes of nick lappin and luke gazdic up with the big club at the time when we claimed boucher back. Would''ve been nice to give him a shot

He pretty much laid out his future.. if Devs don't make playoffs he'll ask for trade or bounce as a FA.

My opinion, if Devils miss playoffs next year they need to blow up the team and a go through a true rebuild. We have 4/5 players that will fetch incredible returns.

This half ass approach to a rebuild hasn't worked so far. Hard to believe 5 yrs ago we were in the finals.

Ray isn't obligated to trade him and I also don't think people realize how many players are going to shift and how drastically things will be different for next season between the expansion draft and everything else that normally goes on we could come out of this summer drastically improved or the exact same lol but lets hope it is the first !

I read that article. He said nothing but nice things about NJ. No where did I send him say or infer he wants out of NJ. He wants to be in the playoffs, which is exactly what he should be saying. If he said he was happy here losing I would be worried. If Shero keeps building a good team they will be playoff bound within 2 years. I see no issues here.

That's what u took from it. I think the guy is just desperate to make the playoffs. he's got the 7 year itch. He's under contract for three more years. We don't have to trade him for another two if this trend continues
