After reading all the discussion, it seems self-evident that the NHL has to nip this in the bud. It's like the Subban slash on Stone and probably numerous other injuries throughout the league. It shouldn't matter whether a stick breaks or is dropped... any two-handed swing should be an automatic minor, the end. And if it causes an injury it should be an ejection or short suspension.
It's all well and good to poke or hook a guy slightly to try and get him off his stride, but these two-handed swings have no place in the game and have to go ASAP. Anyone wanna try and argue that it's 'part of the game'? BS. A two-handed swing with a essentially a weapon is not part of any game I know.

I know you guys have probably said it to death, but what if Methot did that exact thing to Crosby? It's bullpoop. Sad when you think of it. We naively think they are doing their stuff to protect everybody, no matter skill/star level. But no, we see how golden players have their own set of standards.
