What did I miss that Lehtera is 'unavailable'?

For Lehtera, concussion symptoms. Anyone heard how he is doing? Is he skating now?

been out with an injury for a while - upper body i believe.

Nobody has been uttering the C word that I have seen but I've been wondering if maybe that is part of it. He took a puck to the face around 2 weeks ago (Ducks game). Odd thing as he was out for a while last year taking one to the face in February I believe (vs Rangers maybe?)

I've been wondering about concussion symptoms but hadn't seen it published anywhere.

Lehtera had a concussion earlier in the season. I don't wish him ill that department. He'll be great as a healthy scratch when he gets healthy.

Amen. The fact that he didn't travel with the team suggests it's a concussion.

I just hope that it hasn't gone unnoticed that the team has not missed a beat without him and that Barbashev is already the superior player.

I wish no one ill with concussion symptoms, but I have not missed him in the line up.

Thanks for the info gents.

Just found this:

Jaskin, who was hurt in a collision with Robert Bortuzzo on the road in Los Angeles, is skating again and hasn't taken part in any contact drills. Jaskin said he was feeling better but wasn't sure when he could return. Yeo said Lehtera, who was hit in the head with a puck, is riding a bike again, one of the first steps toward his return to action.

http://www.stltoday.com/s...02-af07-62eaca322f06.html

Leads me to believe it is a concussion based on how that was worded.

I think that might change with Stastny out as well now.

Hope I am wrong as I want our great play to continue. Down 2 centers is not good though.....even if you don't like Lehtera.

This was also in the article. I heard Hull take about it briefly this morning with Bernie I think on the radio.

ONE LAST HURRAY

On Friday night, the Blues' alumni will help say farewell to the Hardee's IcePlex, which will cease operations later this month.

The complex in Chesterfield opened in 1995 and was formerly the practice facility of the Blues and it has served as the home of the alumni and the Chesterfield Hockey Association.

Bernie Federko will be among 20 former Blues in attendance for a final sendoff Friday at 7 p.m., a fundraising effort to support the new Chesterfield Sports Complex.

"I was one of the original members of the board that formed the Chesterfield Hockey Association, so it's disappointing to see that the building is not going to be there anymore," Federko said. "It's going to be nice to hopefully get the funds raised so that Chesterfield can build another rink because it's very important to Chesterfield hockey."

This marks the second time in three months, following the Winter Classic at Busch Stadium, that the alumni are back together for a game. So Federko and others seem to be playing more hockey these days than in recent decades.

"I thought after the Winter Classic that I was hanging them up for good," Federko said. "But I'm pulled out of retirement for one more game and I'm hoping this is the last one. It took a long time for the (soreness go away after the Winter Classic), it's finally starting to feel good. Trust me, though, I'm not going to get going fast enough in the game Friday anywhere near what I had to do in the Winter Classic. No preparation for this one, this is just going to be a pick-up game. But it will be fun, it's always fun to go out with the guys."

In addition to Federko, the list of players expected to be in attendance at Friday's event feature Brett Hull, Kelly Chase, Darren Pang, Jamie Rivers, Rick Zombo, Larry Patey, Jamal Mayers, Gino Cavallini, Lubos Bartecko, Jim Campbell, Bob Hess, Bruce Racine, Tom Tilley, Dwight Schofield, John Wensink, Neil Komadoski, Blake Dunlop, Mike Zuke and Jon Casey.

Tickets are $100 each and can be purchased online at chesterfieldhockey.com or by calling (636 )778-2043. The event will include door prizes, giveaways and a silent auction for fans that attend the event.

Is it me or does $100 a ticket for a lightly attended alumni game where the cause isn't even a charity seem like a stretch?

Also, the Alumni's website - http://www.bluesalumni.com/ - Yikes. The Alumni should just take that site down if they aren't going to update it at all (no alumni WC hat info, this event, plager # retirement, etc).

It's a huge stretch, but they want some extra money to go to a new rink, not that anything this thing will generate will actually help but whatever.

Losing Stastny hurts, probably have to put Steen in the middle and thin out the lines. I'd still rather have Steen play the middle and bring in Yak rather than Lehtera.

Ok, extremely unlikely it realistically happens... but if Blues keep the same pace over the next ten games as they did in the last ten; and Wild do the same, we would only be 1 point behind them for home ice advantage in the first round.

I was just about to perform this calculation. We need to make up 9 points in 9 games, which would normally seem insurmountable but with the way things are going you never know.

It would be nice to get a step up on Nashville and secure that first round matchup.

In news around the league, it appears Crosby may have slashed the end of Marc Methot's pinky off tonight. Reminded me of Paul Cavallini only his was with a puck.

Sharks fans are likely getting concerned. They may end up on the road in the 1st round if they aren't careful. Maybe even the wildcard.

If the Blues and Nashville keep winning and Clagary slips a little we could catch them and could be in the 1st wild card, either us or Nashville. not that far behind them, what 3 points?

Were the refs just ignoring tripping against the Blues tonight? I know we had some pp time but alot in the 1st went uncalled against us.

How do they change a double minor to a major and let the 4-4 for however many seconds go. Shouldn't they have reseet the clock and replayed that time? It wouldn't have made any change but that was really weird

I'd suggest avoiding the video.

Oh please the zebras called plenty of things your way. Even an offside goal. You played against a sucky team with even a worse line up it's had all year. Plus you get the benefit of a useless coach in WD who overplays has been vets. This is game was ear marked for giving you points. Be happy. Stop the whining.

Ah, a classic post of whining then complaining about other people whining. Not as fun as the old days, watching Canucks fans try to convince themselves their team wasn't taking dives, but still; good stuff.

lol chill man. Don't get so bent out of shape over what someone says, your day isn't ruined.

The blues winning and Nucks losing is the best thing for both teams. One offside call wasn't going to change the outcome of the game, so no point in arguing either way.

Agreed you guys need to lose as many games as possible to get a better pick and the blues just need to keep chugging

it was a win for both teams as far as I am concerned. Low draft pick for us, better playoff position for you guys.
