I am a little disappointed Boyd Gordon won't be in the team photo...hopefully it isn't awkward when I ask him to sign it and circle his face

The travel to St John's is wild but they should fly Porter Airlines!

Bill you are right about the positives from recent games. The injuries made sense when looking at all of their stats.

I don't like the way Mr. Meltzer is using facts and logic to derail the "Mason Sucks and Everthing Is His Fault" narrative. Don't like it, sir. Not one bit.

So before someone comes in and makes a statement about it being a dumb win, who cares.

Flyers are likely picking between 7-12. Forget about it. The last thing I want to see this team do is try to lose. Watching TK score and pump his fist or Couts and Schenn celebrate that game winner shows me that these guys do actually care. People here might not see it or want to believe it, but they DO want to win.

Lets just try to enjoy some good end-of-the-year hockey... because before we know it, its going to be June and we will all be bored to death.

Bill,

i know early but do you think or have any feeling if there might be new assistants next year? I remember something about Hakstoll wanting to bring his own guy his first year but he took the ND job.

Before they hired Hakstoll I liked Luke Richardson. thought he did some good things with the baby sens he was a guy I liked. You think some new assistants could be brought in to maybe bring some new wrinkles and ideas to the PK and PP?

Billy, TK's looked great lately and you hit the nail on the head with Ghost. His skating is eye-popping again and looks like last year's Ghost. Must've been injury > a confidence issue. I'm just glad he's back because it confirms the talent didn't disappear. We're perennial cup contenders by 18-19.

I liked seeing that as well. Hasn't been a great year, but we're not the avalanche.

Claude Giroux - 8/31/16: "I feel 100 percent," Giroux said Wednesday after a news conference to unveil the Flyers' 50th anniversary jerseys at One Liberty Observation Deck in Center City. "It's been a long road, but I was in good hands with the trainers in Philly, and I also got a lot of help [during rehabilitation] in Ottawa and right now I feel really good."

"But that's in the past and now I feel good. I don't feel like I have a 60-year-old hip anymore, so that's pretty exciting."

Ron Hextall - 5/14/16: "This is a typical hockey hip, whatever you want to call it, and it leads to the abdominal area, so they're connected," Hextall said. "One leads to the other. Like I said, this is a typical hip surgery that a lot of hockey players are getting.

"It's certainly not a surgery our doctors or (trainer) Jimmy (McCrossin) or anyone else is concerned about. I don't want to play it down, but it's almost like a maintenance surgery for the body."

So you will all excuse me as I reserve judgment until next season. It is a results-oriented business after all.

old article but talks about Penn State hockey's six degrees of separation to our beloved Ivan Provorov

TL:DR provorov isn't at all connected to PSU hockey

IMO The kids need to stay down as they are in a pressure filled stretch drive themselves.
Playoff experience even in the A will/could help them more then a cup of coffee in the long run.
It would also be nice that if the Phantoms do make the playoffs and make some noise.
