Canes are definitely 2 years ahead of the Flyers in the re-build. A couple of big bodies and reliable goaltenders and they're contenders.

That was a fun game to watch last night.

Cooter has looked DAMN good ever since Flip was added at the deadline.

Having the other teams d-men having to match up against G and Flip lines has brought out more potential for Cooter, or so it feels that way.

Provorov & Konecny are why I'm still watching.

Agreed, especially since Giroux is starting to look like himself again.

I was having that very discussion with my buddy last night while watching the game.

Not just because they are the future but also because of what they are bringing to the table game after game.

LOVE IT!

Exactly. It's nice though to also see Coots picking up his game and rediscovering some chemistry with Schenn. Also enjoying what I'm seeing from Giroux and Gudas as well.

When i spoke to Hakstol on Saturday, he brought it up on his own, how G is much more noticeable the last 10 or so games.

I said to him, yeah most of us fan speculate it is\was the hip that was hindering him and perhaps now he is getting back to pre-surgery mobility.

Don't look now, but the Flyers are only 5 points out of a playoff spot. Gotta finish this season strong by taking it one game at a time. Play like there is no tomorrow. Can't worry about other teams just have to take care of your own business. Workmanlike. Bring the lunch pail.

With Giroux rounding into form it is clear the consistent inconsistency shown the past couple seasons is but a statistical blip in the teams rebuild on the fly. They have actually played a lot of great hockey over the course of the season, but the results weren't always there. Bad bounce here, hot goalie there.

They're going to win a lot of hockey games if they play like they did last night.

Like previous years, they're going to heat up just enough to screw themselves out of good draft picks.

Problem is back on the road they play differently.
With the league having so much parity, I always thought they were only like 2/3 players away from being a lot higher up in the standings.
If they had more consistent goaltending, a true shooter, (like a Mike Hoffman for example), and another 2 way, top minute defenseman who can play similar to Provorov.
Checking the stats, and where other teams are another 20 goals for, (a shooter/sniper), and 20 goals against, (one more top level defender, and consistent goalie), and they are in the top 10.

Its ok, i would put the Flyers scouting department up against any team in the NHL.

I will take all the wins the Flyers can gather because tanking is only for franchises that will fold if the team doesn't have atleast one generational player on it.

Unless they somehow get a top 5, the rest on out is a crapshoot in this years draft.

They have to take each game one shift at a time and to bring their lunch pails to the arena every night.
