I would be surprised if this was actually debatable. One team is in a playoff slot the other is not. The team already in a playoff position has the better chance of making the playoffs.

It’s like Lombardi just realized that he should have traded for a backup back in November …. And then went out and traded for the best backup available to overcompensate for it.
