Hopefully, that is the last of Tom Sestito as a Pittsburgh Penguin.

Amen to that. I cringed at his call up and wasn't shocked that he did something stupid with his opportunity.

Glad to see Sundqvist getting a chance.

A couple years ago we had the worst 4th line in hockey and now we have Sundqvist unable to crack the lineup.

Good for Schultz. He should be looking at a pretty sweet new contract.

Penguins know how to develop players and put them in situations where they will not fail. Schultz And other player in edm were so badly managed that there careers were in jeopardy. Good job penguins!!!!

4 games is meaningless to a person who rarely plays. He's getting call ups BECAUSE he crosses the line. This should just serve to help him get more gigs where he does this.

He's willing to "take one for the team."

UGH!

Immediately after Geno dropped the gloves with Wheeler, Sestito's role was pointless. Malkin did what he needed to do to settle things down and then it was business as usual. You could even tell he wanted no part of actually fighting. Look at his posture. But he did what was expected out of respect. That right there completely negated Sestito's need to be there "in case of something". I think he got into a fight immediately afterwards just to say he did something quasi useful.

Even though what Sestito did was cheap. You can bet Sid and Gino are a little relieved. Opponents may be a little more hesitant to lay a body check or a two hander across the wrists knowing there is a neanderthal waiting in the wings to take a your head off if you do so. I may be in the minority here but good on him for doing what he did. The Jets run around every game trying their best to remove the opposing teams best players from game action.

Does Shultz get Norris votes this year? And if he does, does that make McTavish right?

My column...

Like him or not, did you see the reaction on the penguin bench when Terrible Tom took charge. Players love guys like that,

I'm sure the jets players are thrilled. Hurray for the Sestitos and Steckels and torres, and so forth and so on.

You're wrong... Anybody who watched the last meeting to this game knows so many less runs by the Jets. It's easy to be a bad ass when you have to answer to Scott Wilson. Sestito put the entire team on notice. Byfuglien wanted no part. I can't remember him hitting anyone this game. Lowry too. He went after Malkin when Sestito was out of the game. However he ran everything the game prior. Like it or not intimidation works and nobody wants to answer to guys like Sestito, Goddard, Laraque, etc...

On paper this looks like 7-6 game. That means it will never happen, right?

Schultz is a smart player. I honestly did not know he had such great wheels. Dude can fly.

Gretzky is what he is because nobody touched him without immediate response from 2-3 tough guys.

It gets lost in the McSorley & Semenko talk, but Gretz was actually a pretty elusive player himself. He definitely did his best to not put himself in situations like that

You are right. Saw Gretz play live 4 times and various points in his career. Never was in position to get clobbered. And when the games got tough. There were a couple of large bodies for him to deke behind.

Gretzky is what he is because he played the game 2 seconds ahead of everyone else. He never put himself in positions to get hit, he left a second or two early and showed up in another spot a second or two before the puck would wind up there. THAT is why Gretzky is what he is.

Your comment "Gretzky is what he is" is assinine

Where their guys on his team specifically there to protect him? Absolutely, but that is a GM protecting his best asset. Those guys did not make him who he was, that is laughable.

Watch a smaller player today like Kane play, how often does he put himself in a position to get hit? He doesn't because he has learned to play the game that best suits his skill and body type (small) and avoid putting himself in bad spots.

I will also say as a Ranger fan who absolutely despises the cheap crap Malkin pulls on the ice, I 1000% respect his ability as a player and I was both shocked and impressed with him dropping the gloves with Wheeler. Basically saying, ok I got you last time get your shots in, and lets move on. I tip my cap to him for that.

You're misinterpreting what he's trying to say, I think. I think he's trying to say that Gretzky wouldn't have put up as many numbers as he did without the insurance policy he had on his team. He's not saying that's what made Gretzky who he was or attributed that to his playing style.

Just curious, did you despise Staal's cheap shots too?

You guys are in luck again for tomorrow. Nuck team is even more depeleted and hobbled then last time you played them. Should be an easy 2 points and bag of goals.

Well good luck beating out the Caps in the playoffs.

Really sucks Sestito hss to be suspended for 4 games due to Endstroms dangerous playing style. Wish he was here tonight to maybe knock Mcdavid out for awhile. Could you imagine the utter chaos that would take place if Sestito were to truck Mcdavid. Old time hockey boys. Old time hockey.
