???? Like saying "The Sabres announced they have loaned the Leafs Foligno for the playoffs" Strange move??

The big difference I see is that Matthews and Laine are in their 1st season. As is Marner and Nylander

Eichel is in his 2nd year (like Reinhart) and his GM made a ton of moves to put NHL ready talent around him. He is being wasted this season. So are productive years from Kane, ROR and Risto.

There were no expectations with Laine or Matthews, or Leafs and Jets.

Which is precisely why we need Kane on his line so he is not mobbed every shift. Kane will either get some attention off of him or take advantage of the double team on Eichel.

falling short of the playoffs is a certain at this point

You guys watch Eichel every night and you know how good he is. That's all the matters. The kid is a stud and will be wearing the Sabres colors for a long long time. Those media types gush about the Canadian teams and players to the point of being nauseous. I wouldn't sweat it.
