A hockey game with emotion, passion and a bit of hatred. I long for the consistency of these games.

While I think it wasn't overly egregious, that's the kind of hit that can be avoided and no one thinks Sestito is out there to dangle. I wish the NHL would throw the book at him but he's exactly the type of player that teammates always seem to stand up for. Not sure why as it means the opposite team's goon may ruin their career.

Anyhoo!

Hahaha, true but the results were not what one team needed or wanted.

Unfortunately the hit was another example of a team taking advantage of the Jets and delivering a solid spanking and beating. Lack of discipline, poor defence, gawdawful goaltending for the Jets, is there much else to say? Trouba and Morrisey are the #1 pairing now, now doubt and good for them. Sign them up!

Credit to Malkin to drop the gloves, I give him credit for not turtling and answering the bell. Trouble is, it woke him up to take charge in the spanking, but he answered to call.

How many shots beat Helle up top? Not all did but he is prone there and he is challenged to find the puck through the maze of legs and bodies. Somehow, you have to find the puck. Getting beat up top seems to be where these teams are shooting on Helle. The break away that San Jose scored on after being served up by Laine was up top. I can't remember which game it was, perhaps a few games ago and the TV showed Helle getting beat up top and his head was actually below the crossbar. I just don't get it why goalies can't stand up a bit more. Today its called butterfly, but the real term back in the day was a "flopper"!! 6 4 body and your head is below the crossbar, but hey, what do I know, I was defenseman.

The goal pad manufacturers should incorporate blades in the goalie pads at the knees in the future as no one stands up anymore. The opposing player steps across the blue line and the goalie is on his knees. This could be the next step in goaltending technique, blades incorporated into the knee section of the pad! I apologize for the cynicism.

There's no doubt Sestitios hit was from behind. The is little to no doubt that the Jet turned. There is no doubt the hit deserved a penalty. All that said. It was a 5 because it was Sestito. Double minor at best for others. I don't recall the penalty Buff got for his hit on Shultz last game... and yes that was from behind and Shultz left for the rest of the game as well. That's right ZERO, NOTHING, NADA. And then to set the tone because of Malkins hit...silly when you are in a chase for the last WC spot.

All in all. Sestito is a bum. Buff is dirty as well and the Jets made a bad situation worse as a result.

First - I don't like the Sestito hit at all ... second - what bothers me, too, is that Enstrom looked his way before he picked the puck up and then turned to face the boards - that's not a smart move ... not saying it absolves Ses"the t_t" but maybe could have been somewhat avoided ... Ses"the t_t" will get some sorta suspension or fine or ?
.
In some games, Helle drops to his knees too quickly for shots and gets burned ... my son's High School team had a goalie like this last year and it drove us nuts - soon as he sniffed a shot coming his way - right to the butterfly - always got burned upstairs
.
How the hell do we keep getting so many games up on everyone - all the teams we're chasing have games in hand ... christ ... anyway - steaks on the barby tonight and zeroing in on Montreal @ Calgary
.
Go Habs, Isles, and Preds tonight, boys

I agree it's a penalty and now a 4 game suspension but players turn their backs way to much these days and use the boards to avoid getting hit.
