I know Babcock isn't an all eggs in one basket type guy, but isn't it time that we saw the Marner/Mathews/Nylander show?
Put 'em together already. Nobody else is really doing anything on this team.
One good basket is better, than three baskets each with two rotten eggs.

Play this line and the fourth line all night. You know, 'cause Boyle is our savior.

Problem is, you can send guys out to shut down that one stacked line. Best to have the dynamic guys on different lines so the opposition needs to be aware of which line is on.

The pair have combined for two goals since February 6 (both from Bozak) and were on the ice (along with linemate Mitch Marner) for four goals in the 5-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Friday.

That's pretty sad. Part of that is probably due to not having Marner around to make them look good, but I think that scoring drought started a few weeks before he was even injured.

Bah! You don't really need to play them at their proper positions! I put guys in whatever position I feel like in NHL 17 and it all works out fine!

The Leafs wouldn't be on this skid if they won faceoffs.

Among a few other faults (lack of an NHL defense...cough, cough).

But ya, good point.

They're actually all natural centerman, and Nylander likes to set up in the LW slot position for one timers anyway. I think they can figure it out.

I really don't see that switching Leivo for Martin or Soshnikov or Fehr etc. etc. makes a hill of beans difference. It's like switching pinch hitters on the card for a baseball game. Their just not in the game enough to really make a difference.

Whens Carrick coming back? I'm sorry but Marchenko is just terrible. I think I;d rather see them go with 5d than keep parading MArchenko out there anymore.

Although he may need to consult a physician if effects last past the recommended timeframe.

How long before Tanner tells MIB that Gardiner is a top 10 D in the NHL and that line matching doesn't help him 1 bit.

no idea about carrick... and the idea of marner mathews and nylander together should be tried... but maybe only as a PP unit.

marner and nylander both play the perimeter game while matthews is the drive the net type... you still need someone who is going to do all that nasty, non flashy board work down low. if they didnt have the puck they wouldnt be able to maintain sustainable pressure... you need the puck retrieval guy.

I would agree if the leafs actually had a guy. Everyone thinks Hyman is that guy, but with 16 assists in 64gp, on a line with Mathews, I would argue Hyman isn't retrieving squat. He mucks it out in the corners but it doesn't result in scoring chances.
