It would be in the Canucks best interest to trade Miller to the Sharks for anything , since the 4th rounder becomes a 1st rounder if the Sharks win the Cup.
Also with the forwards the Sharks have now , (even excluding Joe and Patty) Goldobin
Would only be a 3rd liner at best . too many other prospects have passed him on depth charts

Haley for Miller. We get an "insurance" goalie AND we don't have to see Haley in the lineup! Win!

Hansen will be solid for you guys. Great on the forecheck will cause havoc for other teams.

Hansen is a great pickup for the Sharks.
He's the perfect complementary player for a strong lineup like SJ.
You can plug him into any line, in any situation and he'll perform. Great energy guy who can grind or play wide open with amazing speed.
Don't worry about his 13 points this year, he's missed time with injury and he's been saddled with Sutter as his C most of the year and has 0 powerplay time. With better deployment the points will come.

He's probably the most underrated player in the league. And locked up to a very cap friendly deal for another year.

Nice to see a mutually beneficial trade between my two favorite teams.

Solid deal we needed a forward.......it's amazing how many shark fans are crying about this... I mean it's not a shocker Goldy getting moved when LeBanc, Meier, O"Regan have passed him up with in the organization. And we don't lack forwards in the pipeline....still have Chartier, Balcers who is lighting it up in the WHL, Gambrell our top pick from this past draft putting in another solid season at Denver... I could keep going for all of you who remember me know lol.

Why do you say it's an overpayment? Or why do you think that? Like I mentioned above........ I mean you just saying that because he was a 1st rd pick, the classic knee jerk reaction.

Right exactly and you guys get a skilled player who's by the sound of it will be playing and he's going to have every opportunity to sink or swim with you guys....something that just wasn't going to happen with us especially how this season has progressed.

I can see your point.

I guess my thinking is, Goldobin seems to have a higher ceiling than a lot of those guys as far as possible offensive production. And don't get me wrong - not opposed to trading him - I'd just like to have received someone better than Hansen.

And like someone else mentioned - I never got the impression they really gave him a legitimate shot.

I like Deboer, but he seems to have an extremely short leash for young players.

I think you're under estimating Hansen....to me he's going to be a great fit on Logan's line.

And Pete doesn't have a short leash lol....... LeBanc, Tierney, Donskoi

Hansen is a heck of a player. I really hope he does well. He was the workhorse on our top line when he played with the Sedins, and he was the workhorse when he was moved down the line up. Giving him a solid center to play with will do wonders. I think the trade is great for both teams. Sharks are obviously in a better position to win now and I think it was a super smart trade on your part.

Fair enough. Lots of the community left shortly after he took over. Jake to get into fights with his readers every other day, so I don't really blame people for leaving.

It's kind of a bummer for Sharks fans here on Hockeybuzz - not many posts and typically very few comments after a new post.

We used to have a decent turn out here.

Curious - does anyone know if Mirco Mueller will be eligible in the expansion draft?

He's an RFA so he won't be under contract technically.....so safe. But even if he wasn't Vegas wouldn't pick him. They'll be choosing one of Ward, Dillon, Martin, Schelmko, Demelo, or Dell.

Probably right on that regarding Meuller - I know at one point he was pretty highly regarded....not sure if that's still the same case.

I didn't think Demelo would be eligible. Myself, I've really been impressed with his play. Hope we don't lose him.

I'd hate to see Schlemko go (and he'd probably be my pick out of that group), but he seems to get injured pretty frequently.

Would rather not lose Dell either at this point, that kids been a great backup!
