I said they could go either way. Many felt this year was fools gold and they weren't contenders. I had written half a blog to say get Shattenkirk, give up the 1 plus other assets. Now, who knows what Gorton will do.

With the Rangers being firmly in a playoff spot, I don't see them selling. Will probably make a move for a depth d man and see what happens

Yeah as am I im just annoyed cause its the Caps. And I knew it was gonna be either them or Pitt. And im tired of waiting as St. Louis and Tampa have shown you can be real good one yr and struggle next yr. Really felt like this yr they should've went for it now I'd rather have them make no trades no plan B cause you wind up with plan B results and that not good enough to beat Caps or Pitt.

The Rangers have no shot out coming out of the east now. Maybe with Shattenkirk, they had shot. Now they might as well start phoning other teams asking if they want x, y and z. The Rangers seemingly can't be the Penguins, Habs, Jackets this year. You can say the Caps always choke but they are going for this year more than any other year.

The Rangers lost to the team that beat them in the 2nd round. The Rangers are not better than the 3 teams in front of them in their own division and the Habs once again own the Rangers.

Rangers vs ___ teams:

Penguins: Penguins have the better offense, Murray comfortable vs the Raangers. Maybe the d-core is even.

Capitals: Goaltending is a draw. Caps offense is better and their blue line is better now with Shattenkirk.

Jackets: Seemingly on paper are even with the Rangers: But the Jackets playing style dominates the Rangers

Habs: Price loves playing vs. Rangers, Rangers meltdown vs the Habs

All this is solidify the thinking of the 7 spot being 100% necessary to make a legit run. No matter how you slice it, it's imperative to only play one series vs the caps, pens or cbj. If anyone thinks otherwise you are on a host of drugs
