Ben Case: One Man Show as Gaudreau Torches Canes The Canes lost 3-1 yesterday to the Flames in another strong overall effort. The true difference maker last night was just a little bit of "puck luck," as two of the Flames goals came off of fortunate bounces. Most of the game was played relatively evenly between the teams despite the Canes 35-24 shot advantage.

This game epitomizes the Canes season- plenty of scoring changes but only one goal. i think the effort is there but not so much the talent. It appears the Canes have about 5 players who need to be in the AHL or overseas in some European league. And Hanifin needs to be sent to Charlotte where he can straighten out his game.

I am a season ticket holder- 10 game pack- who has gone to the Canes games even when they were in Greensboro. I am sure next year the Canes sales people will be calling me to renew. But I have been thinking- if the owner of the team won't invest in the team by spending some money above the salary cap minimum- why should I? The canes salary is the lowest in the league. Perhaps an investment of three good players at $4-6 million per player would allow the team to compete. And the goal tending is sub par so even with a good team effort the goalies often let the team down. WAKE UP RON FRANCIS!!! Your plan to field the cheapest team possible is really not working.

Don't worry bud, Francis is a really smart GM, he only makes this team better every year. Im sure expectations this season were low.
