Firsted!!!!

Suck it Irish!

I am picking up what you are laying down Todd. Parenteau would be a good addition.
What could he be had for?

I'd be okay with that too. Anyone know what the expected price for PA would be? 4th and a b prospect?

All the sudden, I'm worried about losing Ferland in the expansion draft. Not sure how this all works but if they can move Stajan to free up a protected spot ? And Chaisson taking undisciplined penalties can't be allowed to continue. Trade him for anything and bring up Hathaway.

I would guess a 3rd but the Flames traded theirs, obviously

They don't have to protect Stajan do they?

My understanding was Protect:

Moni, JG, Bennet, Backland, Frolic, Brouwer, and that last spot was the question mark (obviously Ferland).

And then on D the big 3.

Don't think Stajan has a no trade.

We have lots of room to protect our forwards. We can protect 7 of them & none of them have NMC, they have NTC & limited NTC but NTC doesn't have to be protected, only NMC. Kippeeeesh!

Shero will probably hold for a 2nd. And considering what Hanzal went for he'll probably get it.

We should be fine. I don't think we have to protect Stajan (as far as I know it's only full NMC that have to be protected-we don't have any of those). I don't see any scenario where Ferland is not among the 7 forwards we protect.

Canes have a habit of making any goalie look like a Vezina trophy finalist. They usually outshoot most of their opponents with low quality perimeter shots without traffic in front of the net.

Seriously where where are the Coilers trolls? Probably all hanging out somewhere "vaping". They all blew their proverbial loads about a month too soon.

If Chaisson isn't moved to bring up Hathaway then I hope he's put on waivers to send him down and Hathaway up. Stajan is the type of player you want in your line-up for a playoff run in my opinion. He's a perfect 4th line centre, just a little bit higher price than you'd like to see a 4th line centre command.

Are you guys disappointed at how cheap Bishop went for and that you didn't get him? I would've thought your GM would've been all over him. As an Oilers fan I'm happy you didn't grab him when you had the chance. Any thoughts on the price he went for?

Ok, now let all the hatred come. I know people up in here can't have a real hockey conversation without getting their panties all twisted up. Would be nice but I won't hold my breath.

I'm disappointed but you have to wonder how disappointed Yzerman must be! Only god knows how much we probably offered for him at the draft last year!

No kidding! That wasn't very good asset management. If that's all they got, I'm surprised they didn't just hold onto him?!?!

If you ask hockey related questions you will almost always get a hockey related response.

I guarantee the asking price for Bishop was much higher at the draft so I'm not really that disappointed. Bishop hasn't really played that much better than Elliott this season anyway. Elliott seems to be coming around, so I'm okay with going with who we have for the rest of the season.

I agree. I hope we don't sell the farm to try and land MAF. He has some years left but I'm comfortable with Elliott and Johnson.

That's not the way things work around here and we both know it. It goes, ask a legit hockey question. Then get one or two people that will respond accordingly, while the rest of the posters make rude or trolling comments, and tell you how little you know about the sport because their personal biases towards the particular team you cheer for.

Seems to be the way they do stuff out East. Rutherford pulled the same whacko garbage last year, evidently the asking price for MAF when Tre inquired last draft was our #6 overall. The old wiener is going to have to give assets to move Fleury.

LA kind of baffled me by doing this, goaltending wasn't their issue. Whatever. LA certainly aren't going to resign Bishop come summer. I am in the mind set that Elliott & Johnson can follow thru this year & we can decide how things go. Come summer, we'll have tons of options, we can deal/extort on pennies to acquire MAF, we can after Bishop or if Elliott wins us a couple of rounds we can maybe re-up him to an extension. No one & that even includes the Oilers, can afford to go on a losing streak in March. What an ugly schedule for everyone.

Elliott's last 9 games...good luck upgrading on that

Its not like the Flames are likely to go on a cup run this season...why spend assets to get a rental goalie? Let it ride and see what happens.

As for the summer, Flames must have had a deal in place they were negotiating a contract extension with Bishop...his ask was just too high

7x7 has been reported...that would be a turrible down the road

I do wonder where the Flames would be though had they had competent goal tending for the entire season. 5-10 points better likely....look where that would put them

I was just as confused by this move. Budaj has played well for LA, and it seems that any goalie can put up decent numbers behind that defense of theirs.

In a way I'm kind of surprised the Oilers didn't try to trade for Bishop, he's an upgrade over Talbot?

Yeah I am kind of disappointed.....but I would have to ASSume BT talked to SY about Bishop. I am guessing Yzerman would have wanted Kylington or Rasmusson....so that being said I dont think it's worth trade one of those guys (potential top 4 d men) for a few month of Bishop. I say this knowing the type of contract Bishop wants, and knowing that this is why the initial Bishop to Calgary deal fell through.
