Sheng Peng: Don't Expect Too Much from Quick How will Quick play after such a long lay-off?

All I really expect from Quick is to light a fire under these chumps behind. We know how competative Quicky is and that he will take no poop. That is mostly what he will bring. You are extremely right about Budaj and that Quick has been known to struggle himself but also having some excellent hot streaks which gives him that advantage over Buds. But yeah, his competative fire and energy may be what this downtrodden team needs along with a coaching change.

Super good game for LA today. I really really dont like Carter taking the fight with Kesler. And I hope he doesnt have any ill effect from that punch. Nothing against Kes. But sure wish Carter wouldnt do that. Also hate that hes gotta be the guy to show up for everything. If that punch had any potential concussion effects. Hes at risk of getting another concussion from the simplest of hits. The Kings really need someone who can really step up in these radical moments. Its sad Clif can be that guy because if he drops the mits hes really just a punching bag. Id look next for Nolan. But poop I hate seeing Carter having to do that instead of telling Kesler to (frank) off.

And after that the Kings took control of the game, the dominated the 3rd. So glad Carter dropped the mits. Picked his team up.

The game was close no matter the score. The fact is someone like Carter shouldn't have to do what he did.

Kings absolutely domintated the 3rd, they had the Ducks hemmed in for like 5 minutes to start the period.

It was lopsided in the 3rd, coincidentally after the Carter a fight.

Maybe Carter should be wearing the 'C'. He's done more all season to lead and motivate the team than Kopitar has.

I don't either. But I can't discount that it just might have boosted team a little. Only the guys know if it did or not, but at least Carter showed no ill effects afterwards -- that pass to Toffoli was ridiculous.

Quick looked pretty good to me. Imagine when he gets his sea legs.

I hear you. But Carter got Kesler with a cheap shot to the head moments earlier. I totally respect Carter for answering for it. There are too many rats who take cheap shots and run. It's almost like Carter was saying, "Didn't mean to hit you like that. But let's go."

Ya Budaj's numbers are pretty good, that's what I've been thinking all the time Quick was out. However, watching the return of Quick yesterday, it's actually night and day the difference in their styles. I had almost forgotten how explosive Quick can be. He was also decisive in his play and looked confident. He also played the puck very well and executed a number of passes to his D. Usually Quick makes me nervous whenever he leaves the crease to play the puck but yesterday he was on. I can easily see how having Quick in net, not to mention in the room, could be an element that has been missing all season and keeping the rest of team from playing with as much confidence and fire as they are able to.

Huh well that came from out of nowhere! 😨 seems weird to have quick back and buddy the goalie playing the best he has, maybe a package for someone else? Or quick isn't a 100% strange but other wise your definitely set for goal!

Anybody hear how Quick felt today after playing? Makes no sense unless they're going to package Bishop for a bigger trade!.

Honestly. Weather it was a grab for the potential of another trade. So be it. Or its just a huge insurance policy going forward. Bishop is 100% better than Budaj ( hate seeing him being treated this way). But Bishop would flourish in this Kings system I feel.

After playing yesterday, I know,

Lombardi said Bishop is "certainly going to play in one of these next two." MIN/CGY back-to-back starts tomorrow. Should arrive in time.

Outside of Kopi and Gabby actually stepping it up. Nobody else is a potential offensive factor.

-Jon Rosan For those wondering, according to Cap Friendly the Kings will have $7,796,480 of available cap space on deadline day, which is March 1.

This is not a all in year. This is an off year. While I think Bishop would be a wicked goalie for this current LA Kings sytem. I 100% dont understand this trade. Now while saying I dont think this is a all in year. Sure it might be fore Dean who may not be GM next year. But this trade still makes no sense. This team isnt scoring much outside of whatever Carter creates. We have seen Carter with his regulars and others and still produce.

I still believe this should have been a year to retool the roster. I cannot understand a trade for Bishop outside of keeping him from Calg and stopping us from beating them in the wild card race. Fun stuff. But the year should of really been written off and just worked on retooling. Weather its just full roster stuff and or staff and management. Bishop makes no sense. Budaj was a soldier for a sorry team and got shafted as soon as Quick played a game. I still cant understand it, unless it leads to something else.

There's no way the Kings would do this just to stop Calgary from getting Bishop...first off, he's probably not exactly a high priority or suddenly going to make the flames world beaters
Our goalies are playing better and we'd be grabbing a goalie thats gonna be UFA that we probably cant even afford to sign....

But in reality your goalies are awful. Thats just a simple look at it. Rest of the roster has enough danger in it. But not in the pipes.
