Kind of wish MAF got the start tonight, then traded. I understand the need to start MM, but the MAF fan in me wishes it was him.

What's the drink for the evening? I've got a bar at I just finished building and I'm always looking for some inspiring drinks.

Arrogant Bastard on tap, with Jameson Blac Barrel, Jameson Gold Reserve, Jameson Caskmate, Hudson Baby Bourbon, and Hudson Maple Cask Rye all at the ready depending on how things go.

Why would anyone's give up anything for MAF, lost his job to Murray and this years stats don't make him look that good.

Because he's named Marc Andre Fleury and he has a good (not great) track record.

Had

Chad Johnson has better stats...I wouldn't give up anything for MAF.

plus 2 more years at 5.75

Who ever trades for him should be fired

Just my opinion,

I can't understand why Fleury would waive his NTC (and if he doesn't, there is little chance he will be traded). I certainly wouldn't in his situation. If he does not waive it, he will be bought out and will thus make more money (buyout + next year's contract). He also has more flexibility and say on where he plays next season and can be sure that no matter where he goes he will start.

The only thing he gains by waiving it is the possibility of starting more games in March/April of this season. He will make less money and could (and probably will) end up on a bad team.

Why?

Miller has better stats ( on a terrible team )this year and can be signed at a cheaper rate after this year I would think or let him walk.

The suggested Flames trade is reasonable but I don't think it makes much sense from the Flames stand point. Elliott' been playing well and I believe to date, both he and MAF have similar stats. The only thing that makes sense is if Elliott's contract demands are greater (term and salary) than what MAF current contract is. We only need a couple more years before Gillies, Rittich or possibly Parsons are ready.

He wouldn't be getting a high $$ contract as a Free Agent goalie in this market. Money is probably a wash. He needs to get somewhere to reestablish his value before his next contract, and he wants to play now

Whoever trades Schneider over luongo, then trades luongo for nothing, and then signs miller to a 3 year/18 mil contract should be fired.

I get trashed on Flames Nation all the time but I think that trade scenario is the most logical for Calgary. For the record, Elliott is playing pretty good now & I don't think Fleury is an upgrade. Problem is Calgary has two really good young goalie prospects in Gilles & Parsons that are a good 2 years away. Fleury's 2 years left fits the time line nicely where resigning Elliott may be more difficult. He will probably want at least a 4-5 year deal & a raise. I would like to see Treliving maybe eat a few million of Wideman's salary & include Bouma in the deal so we can get 2.3 Mill of cap space back next year, seeing we are doing JR a pretty good favour on cap space & solving his expansion draft issue.

I agree, just talking hockey. I don't even like the Nucks.

Holy (frank), sensitive bunch for having 1 of the top teams in hockey.
