A quick edit needed.

Landescog is in Colorado, not on the Coyotes.

Outside of that, the Ducks are in a position of strength with a bevy of defensemen that could be coveted around the league to land the forward(s) they need.

Interesting that you make no mention of Toronto, the defacto trading partner of the ducks.

This blog was so good you downloaded it twice! I like it!!

Landeskog would be awesome, I've heard he and Silfverberg have been talking, but i seriously doubt Sakic will move BOTH him and Duschene at the deadline. it's stupid of the Av's to gut the team, they just had a bad year. They DO need defensive help but they'll probably get it from Montreal ridiculously overpaying for Duschene. This is why I don't think the Ducks will get Landeskog.
The Rangers deal would be intriguing. I hadn't really thought about them but they do have a ton of forwards and not much D...

JVR is always in the mix but I've heard they are not that high on him because he likes to play on the perimeter and doesn't like to crash the net. This was the one big negative on Bobby Ryan. Great perimeter player, which is great in the regular season, but when the playoffs start and you need dirty goals he disappeared. The Ducks are DESPERATE for goal scoring so it could still happen though.

Surely Van would get something more if there were to be a Miller-Bernier swap?

Bernier sucks, as does his contract.

What about Komarov for Theodore?

Komarov has that playoff sandpaper teams would covet

JVR is not gritty for sure, but he's not a perimeter player. He goes roof from 3-5 feet regularly.

Jvr scores 90% of his goals from 10 feet or closer..so what you just said about the ducks view him as a perimeter player makes 0 sense.. you have a source,or is this your lack of hockey knowledge.??

Why in hell would Tampa want to move Drouin? If they should move anyone its Stamkos. Kucherov and Drouin are the top forwards now.

Anaheim makes their first move! Patrick Eaves is finding the back of the net consistently, and doesn't take a ton penalties. They traded the Toronto second rounder from the Andersen deal that could be upgraded to Anaheim's first rounder if the Ducks make it to the Western Conference Finals.

A spicy move, but a Murray move. On the surface, this may look like a hefty price to pay, but bringing in a guy who's consistently finding the back of the net, isn't penalty prone and will only be a 250k cap hit is a win across the board. I think what made Eaves so coveted was how cap manageable his contract was.

Is this the first domino? Only time will tell.

Eaves is a nice get if he can find some chemistry with RR who I think he will be paired with - as the Getz - Kase - NR line seems to have found some rhythm
Q1. Ed how much more rope do the owners give BM before the ax falls - Q2. How much longer can the Ducks afford a 8.6 mil player to be so terrible before they have to cut bait .. as he has 4 more yrs and no team can stomach this little production from the 8th highest paid player in the league for that amount of time -

They might be if you don't understand: 1) Bargain Bob is a great GM. 2) What a no-movement clause is or that Corey Perry has one.
