Was at the game, don't know if Bishop would have made a difference, the Flames were the better team. The Lightning allowed them to control the play and kept collapsing in their own end to give up scoring chances. 2 tip in goals from Flames directly at the crease and a nice shot from Hamilton on a PP. I don't blame Vasy. I wonder why it seems the team plays different in front of Bishop then Vasy - it can't just be Bishop handles the puck better.
I still saw this surge of points as false hope, it will be interesting to see what Yzerman does, a lot of the fan base will be upset if Bishop is traded but that is the economics of salary cap NHL... its sucks but the Bolts just cannot afford him anymore. I still think Vasy will turn out just fine.

Calgary fighting for their playoffs too! Did Stone play for Calgary? He was a pretty cheap pickup for the Flames.
With the parity in the Atlantic via the loser point, it is going to be difficult to make up 6 points to catch up to Leafs, Isles, Bruins and Panthers. I would rather SY set the table for next season than try to jump into playoffs. Though it would be fun to go to a playoff game again.
There were reports (Bob MacKenzie) that Shattenkirk and Lightning had talked about a contract prior to trade but that it was unsuccessful.
As for Bishop, a lot of fans will be disappointed if he walks at the end of the year for nothing.
Funny it was less than a year ago that Drouin was sitting at home waiting to be traded. When the TDL came and went, he returned to Syracuse.
Oh well, we will know what SY does next Wednesday. Cheers
