Rangers could have been leading 3 or 4-0 after the 1st if it wasn't for Grubosaur in net. That period was close to pure domination, with Ovechkin's name not even being mentioned once outside a chance he had on his opening shift.

Caps definitely took over the game in the 2nd though, and Lundqvist was key there. The 3rd period was more even, maybe a slight edge to the Caps, but Hank was clutch and won us the game.

Old Grubhouser is fast becoming one of the best backups around. Though, you'd have to think probably any NHL capable goalie would do alright as the Caps backup, so it's really hard to say. At least he'll get paid.

If you thought Sunday was a snoozer than idk what to tell you. Especially the 2nd period when the Caps out-shot the Rangers 11-4. You don't watch these games, confirmed.

Not sure why it's news that Burakovsky is skating, as unless my memory is faulty, he is out with a broken hand. You don't skate with your hands, last time I checked.

You can still fall when you skate though, and the first thing you do is put your hands out to brace. All he has to do is hit a rut and down he goes. So it is progress that they think he's ok to go out and risk it.

If you go back to the main page, reload the main page, and then click directly back into the comments, bypassing the actual blog, it usually fixes it so that quotes work. Not every time, but most of the time.

Caps best players looked like they were still at the beach. Looked like pre Christmas Caps, not willing to pay the price to get to the net and score
