Isn't LW a need next season?
Kunitz gone
Hags is meh
Sheary is hurt.
Not sure who the other LW is at the moment but yeah they need some help there as well.
So 3C, LW, Top 4 Dman. |

I disagree on Sundqvist, I think he projects to a bottom 6 C at best, and while those are needed, I think he is expendable if a better option for a more impact roster spot is found. 1st+Sundqvist for impact D/3C (Johnson) could be a very good move, if GMJR can get the cap to workout.
This defense did win the cup last year, but they also had Dumo, Lovejoy, and Daley all player over their head. Although the emergence of Schultz and Cole as a pairing has helped soften the regression of Dumo and Daley and Maatta to an extent. - j.boyd919
I was reading Yohe's Q/A on Dk's site yesterday. He said they love Sundqvist and will almost certainly protect him for the expansion draft.
I think they're planning on having him take Bonino's spot. |

Here is his answer to a guy asking why he hasn't been up with the big club this year...
He was banged up for a while. But trust me, they absolutely love him. They just wanted him to get a full year in WBS. I bet he’s on the roster next season for good. Rutherford thinks he’s going to be an impact player.
Interesting note: The Penguins could lose Sundqvist in the expansion draft. I bet they’ll protect him. |

He's had a hell of a season and looks NHL ready. The season he's had has renewed my hope that he can one day be 3C caliber but I'd be surprised if he jumped into that role off the bat next season. I'd definitely protect him over Wilson and Kuhnhackl. |

I'd love to see charts and advanced stats on Schultz from Edmonton and Pittsburgh side by side....I have Lil use for charts and advanced stats because I think systems and players are way too variable to really compare things as an apples to apples kinda comparison. In other words let's trust the real hockey experts that get paid to make up this team to add and subtract as they see fit. It's been going well for a few years. |

He's the kind of player LV would definitely take a chance on. |

I'll never forget the -5 he had in a Pens/Isle game right before Philly traded for him. Sometimes +/- is a good stat.....it was in that game. |

Terrible all around sequence. Bad turnover by Geno, the Gaunce breaks his own ankles, and that was just not Murray's best. Can't blame the goalie on break away goals, but that was ugly. |

I've noticed at times Murray is not the best at back peddling when he comes out to challenge. Not every time but enough. |

You mean the experts who say Schultz is playing exactly how he did in Edmonton? His charts are pretty much the same, proving he is the player that the numbers said he was... |

It is one of his best aspects as long as he doesn't overreact and flop. |
