very exciting game indeed, I can't wait only 8.5 hrs to go. I expect this one will need overtime to decide .Phaneuf should have his biggest game of the year. He is such a valuable addition to the Senators .Thank goodness he is not a Leaf anymore I am also hoping Karlsson will net a few more now after getting that squeaker by NJ the other night.

The NHL schedule is a mess this year. With the bye weeks and playing "rivals" over a course of a few weeks and then never playing again is silly. They play the Habs 3 times in a week next month. Seems like the NHL is trying to have an NFL, MLB, and NBA schedule all into one. Simply doesn't work. You can't force rivalries. They just happen.

Why professional athletes need a "bye" week, is beyond me. They have bye weeks in their off season...

Rant over about that.

Would be nice to see an exciting game tonight, but the only way the Sens are successful is playing a boring brand of hockey. Not a knock, but the reality.

Standings are tight for sure. Seems to be a good amount of parity amongst mediocre teams.

With an additional franchise next year, I fear the NHL product will be even worse than it is now. There are are not enough actual skilled players to make every team exciting to watch.
